Can the TRS sensor be replaced from above only? I have a Haines manual and it says you have to jack up van and disconnect some cable from below. Is this really necessary? The picture it uses in the Haines manual is the wrong picture. The problem I am having is the trans will not shift into gear. Sometimes it will shift when first started and then not shift after a while, but if it is shut off for a few seconds and then restarted it will again shift for a little while.
Thanks

without telling you a lot of stuff about my 2000 replacement of a TRS all I'll say if the 2000 and 95 are similar I can fill you in. I tried to find a 95 picture but didn't. If my 2000 3.8 is similar to yours let PM me and I'll explain.

The TRS, aka Neutral Safety Switch, is changed from above.
I have a picture of the TRS in one of the pictures that the link in my signature takes you to.
The TRS sits on TOP of the transmission, and everything can be reached from above.
