HAHA. :cwm27: When you head up a department that deals with all that crap, it gets annoying after a while.

You have never seen snow? We got 3 inches yesterday with more to come all week. Snow is cool but it gets annoying after a while, just like the heat. And Blackhawks are one of our hockey teams. I get free tickets there all the time.

Anyone have any good places to buy furniture? I need a living room set and I'm not buying now, but looking. There's bunch of stores around, like Wick's and some little "ma and pa" furniture stores. Any ideas on what's good? Any place online? I've never looked before so I don't know.

My parents have a furniture store that has very reasonable prices, but that would be a 9 hour drive for you, so that doesnt help ya much ;). I'd just go to a few of them and check shit out. Sit on a few couches and find what you like, check delivery ETA's and costs, and compare prices. I bet if you look you can find a used furniture place and I know for damn sure that my first set of furniture will be used. My parents place is pretty much the cheapest in town and even then I cant fathom paying that much for furniture.

Value City, Ikea or Wickes as named.

From my experiences, I strongly recommend staying away from any Harlem furniture products. not very good, and they swindle their servicing to make it look like they strongly back their product, but read the fine print, it's a jip.

I was thinking Value City now that you mention it. "5 Million Dollar Leather Blowout Sale!!!!" ;)

And Thor, it could be a 9 hour drive for me... or for you. So why don't I pick the one I like, and YOU can drive it down here. I'll tip!

Hey shut it or you'll get an illegitimate little brother. ;) Ha ha, JP man.

Ya know, if it would be a 9 hour total drive and you paid for gas I would probably do it, but its 9 hours each way. On the other hand, I second the Ikea notion... they are pretty cheap, but it seems to be decent quality stuff too.

I don't like Europeans.

HAHA. Just playing. I probably won't get living room furniture until May, yuck. Bean bags and probably one of those gaming chairs with the speakers built in are going to be there for a while. Need to buy those also. All that's going to be in there is a lamp, TV stand, TV, and an XBOX for a long time.

Is it Monday yet.

Hell no, it's not even but 41 minutes til Miller Time

Sounds like your average first apartment, little to no furniture an da fridge containing only frozen pizza, left over pizza, and a random beer or two.

The nice part about not haveing a whole lot of stuff when you move in your first place: less 'nice' stuff for people to trash on ya

If you're referring to a rousing evening with the "moms", pssshh, enjoy, she's all your's.

BTW- If so, I would recomend posting your most recent pic, along with hieght, weight, hair and eye color, you know, the usual stuff they put on milk carton missing person ads.

Lets not get into the argument with me and Miller. Bud always wins. And there will never be a random beer or 2... I get free all the time from work.

And you don't want to see Thors pic. If you want one, there's a lot all over the internet. lol.

!!

That is by far the best response I've had to that comment ever, good work.

Back on topic, Dave you should get a futon. I love mine, it kicks ass! Best part is it was $40!! I bought the frame from the used part of my dad's store for $20 and the mattress was from a floor model at one of my dad's friend's furniture stores, $20 and that baby was mine too. Truth be told, that was probably one of the best uses of $40 I've had in a long time. Ya know, if you came up to Minneapolis at the end of the semester (early May) you could probably get a good few futons for free... people dont want to bring them home so they will just leave them in the courtyards of their dorms. Last year the school had to bring in a big ass commercial dumpster to hold the furniture and shit people didnt want anymore. If I can find a way to get them home, I might just sit down at the dumpster for a couple hours and if people are tossing decent futons I might just snag a couple for my appartment next year.

Eww, college furniture. You know how much... stuff :boink: has happened on those. I would need to find a nerds futon, because you know never has ever happened on those and steal his. But even then, they would usually find someway to take them home. So Thor, save me yours because I know you're a nerd.

Seriously though, I was actually thinking about getting one for the living room. Why get a full furniture set for thousands when I can piece together something nice. I bought some glasses last night and looked at TV stands and didn't like one of them. Super Bowl Sunday at my place next week... maybe.

Will you be buying plane tix for all of us that want to come over? LOL

Seriously, look at Ikea. I visited their site once and I was like, man thats some crazy shit. Wasn't too excited about the prices though.

I got the keys last night and started moving in. First scrubbing all the walls as they're dirty as hell and just cleaning up a little first. Worked my ass off last night along with my bro (he was scrubbing the bathroom ;) ) and I'll be back there today.

I've got pics on my phone since my camera is in a box somewhere and I just need to download them and put them up. I do want day pics though. It's very comfortable there and the water is HOT! Which I like. So ya. Pics later though. I'll probably move furniture on Thursday or so.

I'm still at home for the time being. I stay where my bed is, and it's still at home home. But I'm working on it. It's nice though being "this is my place." My mom wanted me and my bro to buy the house next door to us when my neighbor puts it up for sale. Now that's too close.

And here's some crappy images from my phone.

This is the back bedroom, which is going to be my music room. Will have drums, guitars, bass, and studio desk with mixer and dedicated computer for there. Looks bigger than it shows it pic.

My Pink bathroom. Actually not as bad as I thought it was. I got used to it already. It's not that bad.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g291/david-b/0128081738.jpg
And the masterpiece kitchen. It's pretty big. To the left is a cut out for the table. Very big in there.

I dont have any good pics of my room or the living room. Or the outside. Will get all those this weekend. I still have to see what's in the storage shed.
