96 SL1 Alarm Problem

I have a 1996 SL1 that seems to be turning the alarm by itself after the car has been turned off. I will stop the car, leave, and when I come back the alarm has been turned on. I need to turn it off before I open the door or the alarm will go off. Any suggestions?

Check the owners manual, some Saturns had the option of programming the alarm to automatically arm after a breif period of time after the ignition was turned off. The other option is programming the alarm to only arm when you give the command.
