2001 3.8 oil pan question

Hi All, I have a small rust spot on the front of the oil pan that I am told could become an issue if it progresses. Has anyone ran into this and should I investigate an epoxy solution or just bite the bullet and replace the pan? Also, is it a major undertaking to replace the pan or can it be done without too much trouble? Thank you

Pan replacment can be a big job.
What type of vechicle?
Epoxy works wonders.
Most 3.8 pans rust

For what it's worth I had this problem with my 92 Lumina 3.1. 70k I wire brushed it then cleaned with a degreaser. I then prepped it with Permatex* rust treatment 2 coats. Let sit for 24 hrs, sand lightly w/320 grit clean with alcohol then topcoat with desired color. Lasted at least 6 years, 144k I then sold the car 2 1/2 years ago....may still be good for all I know still see it around town occasionally. This is not an endorsment for the product mentioned, I am sure there are others out there just as good or perhaps better. Best of luck on your choice of fix....

it really is not that bad and a wire brush is exactly what I thought to hit it with initially. I appreciate the suggestion.
