hi im going to test out 2 saturns a 96 sl2 170k 1700$ and a 97 sc2 140K for 29004 im just wondering if thats good prices or not...
and what should i really look for on these cars like common things that fail on them thanks.... Josh

Its not bad. I wouldn't pay that much for the coupe ($2900 I assume?) regardless of what KBB says and the like, but that's me.

97s had issues with the fuel pumps. Check the motor mounts if the car vibrates badly during test drive. Find out what maintenence has been done during ownership and post it here. If they're lost for words, I would pay as little as possible.

wayyy to much. bring that down alot.

check windows
make the sure the fan turns on around 1/2 and 3/4 on the temp guage
make sure it has been filled on oil and changed every 3k!

Those prices are too high. I'd negotiate down a bit, especially the SL2. $1700 is too much to pay for a car with almost 200k on the clock.

With each one, you'll want maintenence history as much as possible, especially with regards to the trannies if they're automatic. If the trannies on Saturns aren't taken care of, they may be prone to valve body issues.

Oil changes are important as well. My guess is that either one of those cars will burn some oil as most S cars tend to do, especially with higher mileage. Ask about oil consumption.
