ProJect: jDM Civic!

Hey, i recieved my new EG Civic yesterday and i just started building it, so far i got the chassis on, and made the interior. IM still goin to work on the front Wheel Wells, so i can tuck my tires in a little bit more. Its going to riding on some Mugen MF10's that are Bronze. I had to do some custom work to those to make them fit, cuz the rims were to wide. Sorry for no pics, i dont have a camera anymore, ill get one a soon as possibe. Tell me whut u guys think so far. Thanx:)

Yeah me too, cant wait. This project i think is going to be my best one out of 3. Hey u havnt lowered ur Civic yet have u? I have, i did soe custom rim work to mine. My Rims were to wide so i cut them to where they can fit, they fit really good and the care is low too. So i think u should do whut im doing, if u want. But i recommend u do it, cuz that car looks stock like that, its to high. BUt thats my opinion though so.... So its up to u. :)

I would love to drop it, I just cant figure it out, I was trying to drop the del sol Im working on but it turned into a disaster and now Im working on putting it back to stock height! :(

Yeah, im goin to my Hobby Shop tommorrow to get some Tamiya Light Gun Metal, and some Clear coat. Do u know if anyone has a car thats painted Light GunMetal or GunMetal? Thanx:)

My 360 is painted gunmetal, i highly recommend it,it goes on smooth and it looks tight.

Yo, where can U buy some Mugen wheels, except for the S2000 Tamiya kit.

Hey i just got some Tamiya Paint from my Hobby Shop a couple of hours ago. I finally decided whut color i am painting my car. Im painting it Tamiya Light GunMetal, it looks really nice, i cant wait until i spray it onto my car. I also got some Tamiya Clear coat and some Clear red to paint my tail lights. i havnt started on any body work or paint work yet cuz i need to get some 1000 Grit said paper to sand down some lines on my bumper. So.... My paint job is goin to wait until i get some sandpaper. I also made my own Custom Tachometer! out of some pastic tree parts u get from ur kit. I got a circle and used a saw and cut it into a tachometer shape, and took some more of the plastic to make a part for the yellow Tachometer light. And i glued it and it came out very nice. I painted it silver, and put a Tachometer decal gage on it, and also painted the light orange. Sorry for not having pics, try to amagine it in ur head, lol. Sorry. But try to tell me whut u think. Yeah, I went there. I did not see no Mugen wheels.

Sorry if I seem coy, but why would anyway make a progress post about a car, when there is no pictures? And you did'nt even say what it is going to look like. Do yourself a favor and wait till you get pictures anymore. Then you can get the "Helpfull" Suggestions by looking at it. Why not just go to the bankrupt K-Mart and bag yourself a cheap Camera. They are on clearance.

I just sanded my whole car down today with some 1000 GRIT sand paper and it came out pretty nice. I had to sand some of the mold lines out of my front and rear bumpers. It took me close to 30 min to get a good sanded bumper. Im going to start spraying my Civic tommorrow. Does anyone know how long i should leave the paint to dry before i put Clear Coat on it? I think until its finished drying right? like about 4-5 hours then let it sit after its been clearcoated, for 24 hours? Thanx

just asking, i see ur gonna put a front mount intercooler on the EG but ur only gonna put in the ITR motor, are you gonna trurbo the b18c5 motor or just gonna add the intercooler for loks:confused:

I thought it over and in not swapping the iTR motor, cuz i have to cut my hood open or my Eg cuz the hood doesnt open. So yeah im just adding a Front Mount Intercooler for looks. Can u help me on my question i had about clearcoating on the thread up there. Thanx:)

If you go over the hood a few times with the back of a X-acto, Then push it through the lines, it will come out easily. Wait a week for the paint to harden before clear coating it.

yea i would say to wait a week or so before using clearcoat, i know it seems long , and a week is, but the paint job will turn out much better if u wait longer:)

do you even know what an intercooler does? you can't have an intercooler unless your car is turbocharged.

Yea, Intercoolers look tight. And besides, the model is curbside so whats the difference? You can just say theres a make believe turbo under the hood.

sounds cool, do u have a scanner cause if u do u could just take pics with a desposible camera then scan the pics in.

I was thinking of that too. I am probably goin go do that like on Monday or something. And yeah i have a scanner.:)

the pictures would come out blurry with a disposable camera. even with a pricey camera worth more than $150, it would still come out blurry. He can just scan the car in the scanner, a couple of people have done it already...

Yeah, it depends sometimes.

Shorty, you can use the scanner to scan your car from certain angle. when you scan you still have to use your hand to hold it.

i think you should use black R34 rims.

Maybe not sure, i like those but i dont think they will go with my SpOon Civic. So thats why im putting some Bronze Mugen MF10's on them.:)
