Forgive me if this is a dumb question but i am replacing the suspension on my 91 GXE (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t8396.html). I was talking to my friend who is lowering his civic soon and he said that if i am lowering my car i need to get cambers. He also said that these cost $200. Can you tell me where i can get them, what brand if any should i get, and what price i should aim for? Any info would be helpful being that i know nothing about them. The sooner the better too cause i need to get my suspension fixed before i kill myself going to fast.
:hehe: Thanks.

I wish I had a diagram to show you but unfortunately, I don't.
Camber is the angle at which to top of the wheel(picture the wheel mounted on your car) tucks in towards the car. So it kinda makes the wheel look like it is falling in towards that car at the top. This also helps tuck the wheels in to help against rubbing of the wells. Depending on how low you go, you camber accordingly. There are some benefits but that would be something that only someone with them can explain.

Excessive tire wear is the main reason to get camber kits. I know that www.Stillen.com has them but I would advise from getting them from them. I'm sure there are a few other places you can try. You might try www.shox.com or even www.tirerack.com

While looking at the front of your car negative camber will make your tires look like this:
/----\
Positive camber will look like this
\----/
A little bit of negative camber is good because it increases handling, but too much is not. With springs for your 3rd gen, you won't need camber plates (or bolts) unless you're dropped more than 2 inches (I don't believe there are any that'll give you more that a 2" drop).

Thanks for the info. So i wont need to do anything camber wise since i have a 3rd gen? The springs will only lower it 1.5" also.

If you have a 95-99 Maxima DON'T pay the f*****g mechanics to adjust the cambers in the back because U SIMPLY CAN'T. The fuck*R who was selling me my wheels charged me for the front, the back, and claimed to have aligned the car charging me extra $$$$. Then I found out the truth, there is no way to adjust the camber in a 4th gen. Max. + my car was still going sideways to the right. One day I'll run this motafuka over with my phat tires:sun:

Hehe , I did get pissed off , but my second personnality (Cyko) comes in only when I drive :) My sister is affraid to get in the car with me :D Last time she had to punch me in the jaws to get me to low down, so watch out now :)
Well . I figured out that if anyone will rip you off (350$) you'll be mad as hell too. That would of been my second SUbwoofer that I'm missing now. Anyways, if you're from Chicago or surrounding areas come to the meeting we're having in Naperville , later.
