What will I need to do to put a D16A6 head on my D15? Just swap heads and that is it? Take mine off and put new on or is there more to it? Thanks

Not yet bu the engine I got came with everythign to swap to MPFI so that will be coming this Spring. Have you done it?

I personally have not done it because i have the Si model which was already MPFI, but it has been done by many people on this board, and if the engine that you are getting in spring has the MPFI already, why dont you just wait and do that instead of messing witht the head and stuff now

Well, I already have the engine and I figured the head swap would be a weekend job where as the intake could take me a little longer to do. That is why I said I would wait for Spring for that just cause of the car being out of commission for a while. But now I see what you mean, I will have to pull the intake crap off anyway. Thanks, I had a brain fart. I may as well wait and get it all then do it all at once. I need an SI Deistributor, resistor box, and throttle cable yet before i can do it.

sorry to say but just over zero :( the d16a6 cam has a slightly different grind but not enough to feel a difference. the HP gain is with the MPFI conversion

edit: ps, BLU CIVIC i find your all caps entertaining. i understand it is due to work circumstances. it has become my way of identifing your posts ;)

yea :(. check it.... the Si has 0.01L. the camshift has a slightly different grind. that's it. the real difference between DX and Si is the MPFI and the tranny. the DX tranny is geared for econo daily driving where the Si geared for more agressive "sport" driving.

get yourself MPFI and a Si tranny and call it good to go :D

Thanks Lady! Man, I need to find a girl friend like you! haha

Ok, well check this out then. I have the whole engine plus the tranny. So I guess I will screw the cam and just replace my dpfi with the mpfi, get a good clutch and replace my 4 speed crap with the 5-speed! Sound like a plan or what? What kinf of gains are we talking with this?

haha, thanks Lady!

One more, maybe one more, question. Will replacing the PM6 with my PM5 right now, without the swap help any? Just to help until I do the swap?

you just brought up an important issue. don't mix dizzy's and ecu's. anytime you switch an ecu....switch the dizzy. do not stick in the pm6 until you have the MPFI. it's set up for the programmed fuel distribution. where the dx just spits gas in and it flows through the dual ports as needed. did that make sense. my basic example might has gone :bloated:

That makes sense. I will find a Distributor and do the swap and the ecu at the same time. Any idea where I can find a throttle cable for the swap too? See, I knew I had more questions :P

Yo - there is a wrecked EX sedan here in a local junkyard with a d16a6 in it. If the weather clears up anytime soon, I plan to spend an afternoon pulling some parts off of it. I'll try to remember the resistor box & other MPFI stuff...if you find it somewhere else beforehand, no prob...I'll sell it to someone else I am sure:cool:

Either the DX 5-speed or the Si 5-speed will help over your 4-speed...I think most peeps here know this, but the DX & Si 5-speed trannies have the same gear ratios, but the final drive is different, so the Si tranny gets the revs up faster and keeps them up there to make the car feel peppy...whereas the DX tranny will go, but it is a longer trip & harder to get the car up and moving in 1st, and it keeps the revs down for highway cruising.
With a 4-speed that prolly also means you have the STD, which is only like 72 HP. The MPFI swapover should be a good one for you, along with the Si head & 5-speed.

LOL @ Audi. you only say that because i figured out your mismatched dizzy and ecu problems ;)

now the real question is: did the header fix the exhaust sound issues?
