What happens when you die?

What do you think happens when you die? Is that it? Is it just all over? Do you believe in reincarnation? Or do you believe that you only have one shot at life? Or do you believe in heaven/hell?

you go to purgatory or whatever it's called...... then if you were good Heaven... if you were bad Hell

simple, yet effective :D

When you die, you go to either of 2 places: Heaven, or Hell.

Those who confess Jesus to be their Saviour from sin, and live their life to honor him go to Heaven.

Those who fail to recoginze their sin wind up in Hell.

Think about it - why should Jesus accept anyone who doesn't want to believe/accept him let them live with him for eternity? Don't tell me that 'Because God is Love', because that's only one of his many attributes. He is also a God who requires Justice.

Don't mean to scare any of ya's, but I believe everything I just said, and put it down because I was asked :).

I used to goto church and do all that and avoid "sinning" so that I would go to heaven, but I just cant bring myself to believe that stuff. Don't get me wrong though, I do respect others that do believe in a "god" and try to follow a religion or believe in the afterlife.

Obviously Hummer - it's your choice what to believe, and I'm not trying to sway you, but want to put things into perspective for ya :).

If you are wrong about your outlook on Heaven+Hell, and choose to ignore their existance, where do you think you will wind up? God sure isn't going to want you if you refuse to acknowledge him.

On the other hand, if you are correct that there is no Heaven+Hell, the most I've wasted with my life is trying to be a good person, and lived in niavity my whole life.

Something to think about, eh :)?

I am not really religious so I dont really give a _____ whether theres heaven and hell. They are the biggest pain in the arse around.
We have them visit our street at least once a month and they just keep coming back no matter what you do.
On one very bad time i told them to piss off, told them to stick there BS and never come back.
They came back 3 days later as they thought i need help badly :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I think there is Heaven and Hell, but's what it all about? I mean what is the exact description of Heaven, I want it so I could look in a travel amgazine and say, hey that looks like a nice place to go, what are the rates? I mean what is it? Is it something in the clouds or beyond earth, What's there, do they hand out free women and Feraris? As for Hell, for some reason I enjoy pointless manual labour so it wouldn't be that bad.

I think it would be boring if heaven was just all clouds and harps. I think that heaven would be whatever you wanted it to be. Like you could wake up and just think, "I feel like driving an F50 today." And having one pop up right in front of you. And I think that hell would be absolutely everything you hate. If you hated all Ferraris, then you could be stuck driving one for all of eternity. hmmm. Maybe I should start hating Ferraris...:)

Heaven is supposed to be paradise.... it's whatever you like most, that's what you'll get

I don't believe that it is as black and white, as in heaven or hell. Also I believe that you don't just get to heaven by praise alone, it is praise and works.

I think that when you die, your body dies but your soul does not. I think it moves on into a new body. You will be reborn in a while this time to new parents and get a chance at life again. You can not lead a perfect life, but you can definately lead a better one. No one including you knew you were once alive as someone else. Whoa I guess I believe in reincarnation.

I used to believe in life after death. But the more I thought of it, the less it made sense. The way I see it, once you die, thats it, it's over. You're gone.

If there is no afterlife, then death is really scary. What comes after it? What happens to your mind?!? I can't imagine not being conscious, not existing. Hurts my brain trying to imagine it.

Notions such as Heaven and Hell are contrived to give people a goal and to allay their fears about death. Nonsense I tell ya--it'd be nice if it was true.

Btw, I think the Pope recently announced that Heaven and Hell aren't concrete places. They are what you make it and it more psychological. So no clouds and harps, which would suck and be my personal (and most like others') hell.

I think once you're dead, you're dead (scary thought really). Only the ones who've died know though.

When you die, you stand before God and it is up to you repent your sins. If you you believe that Jesus is our savior and he took our sins upon himself so we could live, then you go to heaven. If you don't believe in this than, you have no business being in heaven. It's not about being good or bad. Everybody in the world has sinned at least once. With this said, everybody would go to hell then. Wrong, that is why Jesus died. You can't earn your way into heaven. It's all about the faith.

yeah... but IMO you don't have to believe in the christian god, if you have faith in any religion you'll probably get in.... like if heaven is actually run by the christian god that we believe in, it's not like all muslims won't get in, they'll get in too cause they have faith in what they believe in. I think we all basically believe in the same God just different religions see him in different forms, etc.

Question for you. If you had started your own club right, and you had only the people that were closest to and only people who beleived in you. Nobody else would be let in. Then there are the people who are in other clubs doin their own thing. But your club is special b/c you are the only one with a contract that says you are the one and only REAL club. Now when people start getting kicked out of their houses they have go to a club to stay at. Now some people join the other clubs b/c they believe that their club is the REAL club, but in actuallity it ain't. So all of the other clubs go under and they come to you. Would you let them in? Thing is about religion, their are a lot of clubs. But there is only one REAL club. I don't know if the non-believers are welcome. It's kind of a lame analogy but I'm short on time.

The Ku Klux Klan claim to be a Christian religious organisation. Yet they clearly dont represent the views of the Christian world as a whole (or at least I hope they dont). Neither do Osama Bin Laden's views represent those of the Muslim world, even though what he did had little to do with his religious beliefs but rather with his hatred of America and consumerist culture which he vowed to destroy. The only thing is that he considered the "infidels" lives not as important and therefore thought its ok for them to die. But this doesnt agree with the general view of the Muslims, just like Christians dont think that it's ok to kill black/jewish or anyone else who doesnt have the same belief or skin color.

As far as the "afterlife" goes I dont believe that there'll be heaven or hell or any of that, at least not in a way people are trying to interpret it.
