I read in Sports Car International that there is the possiblility that lambo is considering building a 750bhp super-coupe in next 2-3 years. How true this is I don't know, but it was mentioned in a side bar in story about the Pagani Zonda. Would be interesting to say least.

 I hope Lamborghini does this.

cause in my point of view...I think that lamborghini is ahead of is time( look at the LM...4x4) the only think that miss to the lambo is a really powerful car...

This would be really something if Lambo do decides to do this. Perhaps with the new challenges being laid down by the likes of Pagani, Ferrari, B Engineering; Lamborghini will step up to the plate. That is not to say that they don't already have a ballistic car on their hands, but with the new techniques and designs being used for the Gallardo (see lighter weight), perhaps the next version of the Murcielago will go on a diet.
As for the engine I read in one of the car mags, that Lamborghini did not try to exploit all they could from the 6.2L V12. They said this particular engine has a lot more to offer. Ferrari managed to pull more bhp from a smaller displacement. I 'm sure Lambo can do the same. Furthermore, is this not Lambo's normal progression, to develop a car over an 8 or 10 year period making it better each year while adding speciall additions such as SV, GT, etc. ?????

You're probably right. Look at the Diablo. First the VT, then the SE, Jota, SV, 6.0, GT, GTR, and probably more that I am forgetting

Probably would, im going to check out what a Zonda is. Think i seen a pic. of one before.

The Zonda has an AMG tuned Mercedes-Benz 6.8(?) V12 in the back, and weighs very little due to its space frame and carbon fibre exterior, although a Murcielago with so much power could make for a very close run.

Would this car beat a Zonda???
Who knows but if they were to build it, it would have to stand out. There is a lot of new "supercar" competitioin out there: Zonda, Konigsegg(spelling), B. Engineering Edonis, Carrer GT, Enzo, Bugatti, and of course your classic F50 and Mclaren for those who still want one (I do).
The Zonda has an AMG tuned Mercedes-Benz 6.8(?) V12 in the back, and weighs very little due to its space frame and carbon fibre exterior, although a Murcielago with so much power could make for a very close run.
Actually, the base Zonda has the AMG 6L V12 and the Zonda S has a purpose built 7.3L AMG 12.
Personally I think that the murcielago is a much better looking car though.
I do to, it is hard to beat the looks of a Lambo. Sports Car International stated that Lambo is a great car and one thing that you get for free is that heritage that goes with it. They said the danger of driving a Zonda is you will always have that one person who ask you "So how long did it take you to build your kit car". That would piss me off.
I think its the best performance wise and best looking out of all the Lamborghinis.
Supposedly, it is the easiest to drive and indeed very quick. I wouldn't know cause unfortunately I have never had the honor.

Another factor we should probably consider is its long term reliability. With Audi helping out in the design and engineering of the new lambos I think the Murci will have a fewer kinks and problems as it ages. I we know that some of the old Diablos started to develop some minor problems as it ages like its electronics (windows would get stuck midway, the rear camera not working properly etc) or in the roof top mechanisms for the Diablo roadsters refuse to work etc.
I don't know about the Ferrari cars and the Zonda though. Anybody have information how the Ferrari cars fare though wear and tear or simply aging? The Zonda is quite new though so it might take a while till we find out how sturdy the car is.

Hi Tony, you don't know me but I have been reading a lot of your threads and would like to ask about your Murci's maintenance. Do you have any problems with it (even minor ones)?

So far, after 800 miles I havn't had any mechanical problems to speak of. I have spent money repiainting the bottom that I scraped coming out of a parking lot. But then I scraped it again. So that battle goes on. I have had an engine light that has come on a few times, but the dealer told me to disconnect the battery and reconnec it. The light went away after that. I sometimes hear a clicking in the front wheel when I am turning all the way to the right. The dealer checked it out and says that will happen from time to time when you are accellerating and turning the wheel hard. The front wheels of the all wheel drive can get into a bind. It doesn't happen very often. The dealer said there is nothing to worry about, thats just the way it is. Also my brakes still squeek, but it seem to happen less and less. The dealer said nothing to worry about, thats normal for this car. Finally, the car seems to require a lot of gas. :)
I have been very happy. Fewer kinks than a normal car would have.
Hope this helps.
BTW - Which campus?

Yeah thats only 800 miles. If you were expecting mechanical failure then maybe honda isn't that great?

Thanks Tony for the quick reply,
About the scraping your lambo's buttom, I thought that it was possible to lift your suspension if you need more clearance for the vehicle(through those arrow bottons behind the gear stick - i maybe wrong here). Maybe it does not lift high enough? I wonder if it is possible to get some sort of add-on to protect the Murci's buttom.
Nevertheless its a fantastic car. I'm sure its a pleasure to drive. I do wonder how people react when they see your shiny orange lambo cruising down the street :sun:
I live in Tokyo and so that campus would be a University called Waseda. I know some students who are in a racing club and boy do they have high performance but butt ugly cars.
Finally, the car seems to require a lot of gas. :)
What do you expect. Its a gas munching V12 monster :smoker2:

The arrows by the gear shift are for tightening and softening the suspension. There is another botton on the dash that does raise the suspension 1.5 to 2 inches (i think). That helps a lot. But, its still very low. I actually have more problems avoiding curbs when turning. I sit so low that its impossible to see how close you are cutting it to the curb. So now I swing way out to overcompinsate.
The car does attract a lot of attention.

I see. From a test drive article I read in Forbs Magazine a while back it does say that you can't really see the nose of the lambo from the cockpit. I guess this takes a while to get used too.
Forgive my ignorance but what are the effects of tightening and softening of the suspension when you are driving (affects handling? etc). I guess when it comes to bumpy roads/ situations you tend to tighten suspension to avoid bouncing the chasses too much that it scrapes/hits the ground?

There is an auto setting that I keep it on all the time. I have never played around with it manually. But you can watch as the computer adjusts it automiaticlly. It seems pretty simple. As the car goes faster it tightens up the suspension for better handling around curves. It gets to the tightest setting pretty quickly (maybe by 35mph).
I cant see the nose at all. I always wondered if it was just me (because im short). So its interesting to hear that info from Forbes.

Hey Tony your car is nothing but the business and I love it.
As far as the wheel clicking when you turing that sound like the same thing you get from a 4wd vehicle like my Pathfinder when you try and turn it on dry ground with the front wheels engage. I have always heard that is very normal.
Good Luck
Bye the way where did you purchase the new Gumball3000 video you spoke about.
Thanks, Raven
