Whats up I have a question?
Has anyone out there ever put a 91 RS motor in there civic?
If so please give me some pros and cons.
The reason I am choiseing this motor is I am getting the hole car for nothing. I can pretty much tear the teg up, and I am sure I will have all
the spear parts I will need. Please if anyone has done this swap let me know was you happy with it, was it difficult, what about wireing?
Please help me out!!!!
Thanks

To put in a 91 teg engine also known as the B18A engine, you will need to get aftermarket Mounting brakets because the stock brakets on either car will not fit, and you will need to get shifter linkage or take the shifter linkage off the teg and cut it about 2 in. and reweld it back on.
Also, note, that if your car is a DX, or a STD with Dual Point Fuel Injection, you will have to convert over to Multi Point fuel injection.
The parts that you can use off the teg are:
-Engine
-Tranny
-Axles
-ECU
You can use HaSport Motor Mounts or HCP Engineering MOunts, i think HCP are better because they have 4 mounts including the mount on the fornt crossmember and the HaSport does not.
Someone else can add to this if i missed anything..

Dont forget to get the rear motor mount bracket from the integra. The swap is cake in an Si, Hf, or Ex. It is a little more work in a std/dx because you have to convert to a multipoint fuel injection system. Other than getting aftermarket mounts and shift linkage there is not a lot that is needed. I would however replace alot of the wear and tear parts before you install the engine.:)

Thanks for the feedback!!
I will be taking it out of the teg as soon as the weather warms up a little. I mean shit it's like zero out here in easton mass.
Were can I pick up those HCP mounts?
Thanks again.

I have another question,
will I have to use the ecu from the integra or can I use one from a si
and if I have to use the one out of the teg will the clips from the stock dx ecu fit I know some wiring is involved also is there a wiring harness to convert this over?
Can anyone point me to a web site that might have more info on any of this?
sorry about all the questions but I would like to have some information
about the swap befor I go start doing it and get in a smellie situation

Hey, we are here to help bro, i think if its obd0 like our cars are, then you wont have a problem, and i'm pretty sure that the 91 teg's are obd0 so the ecu should fit in fine!

That is one thing i would make sure you do while you have everything apart and out. Like the axles, i would go ahead and replace those while you have them out, save some trouble later down the line when they break...well unless the current ones off the teg don't have much wear. Im plannin on doin this swap also, so everyones replies will be helping me out also.

just a reminder that the b18 non vtec makes the most torque of any b series. even though you dont have the benefit of VTEC, you will still have a fast car. BTW, b18 has a lower compression ratios than other b series VTEC engines so it makes a perfect candidate for boost.

converting a dx to a b18 isnt hard i did it to my 90 dx i put a b18b1 in it. And i recommend you use the b18 ecu and yes your harness will plug into . Now i have hear that you cane use the 91 teg side post and mount but i just wet out and got azracing billet mounts they were 350.
it is a good idea to get new axles, timing belt, clutch ,throw out bearing, and a basic tune up.
90 civic hatch
b18b1
new crank , bearings
eagle connecting rods
je 10.5:1 pistons
milled .030 head
dc sport header
revolution catback
8lb flywheelstage
2 clutch
obx adj cam gears
spoon ecu chip
