transmission question

I have been debating,
Should I get an YS1 tranny with the LSD OR get a S1 and buy a Type-R LSD and install it.
No the S1 has a Shorter geering (Type-r like) but never offered a stock LSD (or so I'm told)
The YS1 Has a Longer gearing, but offers a optional LSD.
what clutch and axels does this transmission use ?
I was told to use 90-93 teg axels and to remove a dust cover on them and to use a 90=93 teg clutch... is this correct ?

I would go with the YS1 with factory LSD. It supposedly has as short or shorter gearing than the s1/J1 and you wouldn't have to crack the case open to install a new LSD. The YS1 will need a 92-93 integra clutch kit since it has a different spline count than the earlier teg transmissions. Yes the the 90-93 integra axles will work as long as you are using a 90-93 integra intermediate shaft. Removing the spacer from the inside of the hub and the dust seal on the axles will help the axles fit better and not bind up inside the hub. Good Luck:)

just for reference what clutch does the S1 use... and the YS1 is that just a regular teg or GSR... or are they all the same ?

I thought you can't put on a LSD for a hydraulic tranny into a Cable tranny...... and i'd go with the YS1 anyways.......

The S1 uses a 90-91 Integra clutch kit. The YS1 is out of the GSR.
