We have just now completed the server move!

Please leave feedback in this thread as to what you think. Let us know if you see anything wierd - as I am sure there will be some bugs here and there.

Enjoy!

I was hoping to make this the Christmas present for the members, and then the New Year's present, but neither worked out :o Sorry guys :)

Issue Report #1

Upload problems.

Mr T tried to upload a picture. Whenever he followed the link that the uploader gave him he got this message
" Leecher!
This file is from 64.21.39.66:2086
You are from 139.81.142.25"

So... I tried uploading it. And it worked fine for me. But it won't show up in his sig. And once when I clicked the link to it I got the Leecher error too.

I assume this is because the uploaded pictures are on the old server (the one running the front page and redirect page) and the software is confused by this somehow.

*Edit*
Oh yea, and I forgot, the only pictures I can't see are in people's sigs. All other ones are ok. SO that kinda debunks my theory :p

Hi Guys and Girls :) I am providing, helping and hosting Igor with the new server.

I just wanted to let you all know I think it will only get better from here this is just a base install. But with a few php and mysql tweaks this should get even better.
I will be working to fine tuning the server over the next few weeks and adding a bit more ram next week. (Just to be safe)

Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself, and to let you know you will be seeing me around here. This is a great board and being a big car fan my self makes it even better :)

I am a chevy man myself, I got in to round track racing about 17 years ago when I was 16years old helping a good friend of mine that ran late model stock cars in Alabama.

Most of my friends that stayed in racing have now moved up to work for Bush or Winston cup teams.

Me I got burned out on all the travel every week and got in to web hosting.
I still go to the races most every weekend that I get a chance and help out some friends.

Awesome.......I'm an ex-racer myslef- I use to run by BMW 2002 Turbo in classic car events- however I have since moved to Italy from New Zealand (Where the BMW is)

I'm planning on getting back into it though :)

I'm not a big fan of modern Chevys- but thier classics simply ooooze coolness and the current Corvette is high on my list of dream cars :D They make some pretty nice Trucks as well

Very cool :D

And of course, web hosting is the natural job progression after racing ;)

Igor and Paul, way to go! I got a Cable modem and i with the old server, one problem just lead to another, i'd write a post, then i would get the server busy crap, and i go back and its gone, so i write it again, and then i press submit, after 5 min, i press submit again, and again, and again, then it turns out i posted like 5 times, then when i got to delete the post, it takes an hour, and by all this time i am cluttering the server, but then i am not the only one who has probably had this problem, and when 1000 people do this at the same time, BOOM! Server Busy!!!!

Well, at least its all worked out! Thanks guys! Never will i leave AF! its my 2nd Home!
