Im not sure if its something on my end or what, but sometimes if I try to go to http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin I get a dns error.

If I use http://139.81.142.25 , then it seems to be ok?

That is because the DNS records are still being updates on some ISPs. The issue will resolve with time.

That sounds like a security setting on your internet explorer.

What do the pop up boxes say?

Thanks Iggy and Paul!! I love you guys! I can hardly believe the server move has happened, we've been waiting so long. Then again, what are we going to complain about now? I love the performance, and not needing to backup all of my posts in case they don't go through the first time.

Well here it is, thrusday evening in New Zealand and still having issues with the DNS. I knew our systems were like assback wards but this is redicules. None of my old short cuts that use the automotivefourms.com address work. I am suck using the ip numbers and can not hit the back arrow cuz it doesn't work. I hope this gets sorted soon, as the new forms are quite a bit faster for sure.

My work computer does not have a problem one with opening www.automotiveforums.com, but my home computer is hit and miss, when I got home tonight it worked, but an hour later it didn't. May be more to it than just waiting for the dns updates to take effect.

You are having the same DNS issues.

Seems to be sweet now. All the automotive.com links and short cuts are work as before. 99% of the images are coming up and banner ads. It was a very frustrating time but it seems to have sorted itself out. Either way it is great to be back as before.

I am not sure on how or what caused it, but it could have been a combination of a lot of little things. Honestly it doesn't matter because in the end it is sorted :)

It was Xtra not updating their DNS :)

As I wrote before my work connection was working flawlessly, but I was having trouble with my home connection (cox.net). The last few nights at home is now working flawlessly. With the exception of a few problems out there other users are having, I think it will just take a little time for the little bugs to clear up. I am not a tech wizard but with AF switching servers I think it has gone very smooth, and I am very happy with the new servers. Great job AF:D

Igor that makes more sence than what that techy sent me, as honestly NZ isp's are about as reliable as the weather.

As for myself well it is beyond my limited computer knowledge for sure. I am so relieved and happy to be back and the new server AF is on is seems tonnes faster and more reliable than ever before.

Awesome job done.

Great to hear that everything went ok. I got a bit scared when I saw those database errors earlier :)

I only got the "server busy" message for a few minutes last night, so I guess it is not a problem.
