Hi Have a 2002 Ford Windstar from my parents. They bough it used and it came with remote for starter.
The remote broke and they threw it away.
Now I am trying to figure out how to get a new remote for it. I don't think it is factory installed. It had a blue blinking light by the rear view mirror antannae.
Anyone know how I can figure this out? Cuz y'all know it's going to be coldes winter ever! lol
Thanks

Hi
I have installed a couple of aftermarket starters, none with the blinking light however. Anyway, as the unit needs access to the ignition (key cylinder) wiring, it makes sense to have the "box" under the dash near the steering column. You might be able to find it and figure out the make/model. One clue, there will likely be a wire spliced into the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm (cuts out the engine if stepped on without the key in run - anti theft). Follow that added wire from the brake switch to the starter "box".

Yes if you look for the box under the dash or in the engine bay. You will find the name brand of the type used.. Just get the name brand and the number and you can order the remote from the manufacture or a lot of times on ebay..
