popping noise

i have a 2004 impala and 4 some reason when i turn the steering wheel to the the right when i back out the drive way i hear a pop or if i'm at the red light and hit the gas hard taking off going foward i hear it also please help

need info as to where the noise seems to be coming from.does it do it all the time on acc or backing out driveway.is it a loud noise any additional info would be helpful

Intermediat steering shaft. This is a common problem with these cars. I pulled it out and greased it added fittings put it back in and it is fine

because you are not familiar with the location of this part i believe that you will need a repair shop to perform this repair. if you jack vehicle off ground and where the steering linkages are located next to front wheels you will see rubber/plastic bellows looking devices around axles/rods if grease is coming out of these rubbers you will need what they call boots or if these parts are damaged replacements. these parts fail rapidly when grease is lost.... also after this repair is completed do not accellerate hard with wheels turned as this damages these CV joints

i have a 2004 impala ss i would like to know which size pulley can i use to give me more power with out killing the motor and what type of other upgrades will i have to do to make it perform properly
