Thanks guys!
wouter: this is after polishing, I wish I could lay down paint this smooth!
Steven: It's Zero "Jet Black" base color, followed by 6 coats of 1k clear, wet sanded with 1500 grit paper between every two coats. After curing for a couple days, I polished it out with Tamiya coarse, followed with Tamiya fine and finish compounds, then waxed with "the Treatment" model wax.
archerwin: It is Zero paint, availible from www.hiroboy.com . He advertises it as model paint, but it works and looks like auto paint.
ketje: I used an Iwata BCS airbrush.

Paint looks like no lint fell on it while painting. It is very hard to get that kind of shine. Nice work.

A little update here.
I've nearly completed the engine; some wiring and plumbing was done here, as well as adding BMF hose clamps and exhaust weathering. There's also a scratchbuilt starter motor made from aluminum.

I scratchbuilt the front shocks as well, the original ones looked like junk. The brake rotors were painted with Alclad polished aluminum and the hubs were painted Tamiya flat aluminum and detailed with a black wash.

The wheels were painted with Alclad polished aluminum and the centers were painted Tamiya flat black.
