well it being a turbo'd engine, the only reason i could see them getting rid of some power...less psi.
ok wats the ms3?
Less boost, more restrictive air flow, mess with the A/F a bit, etc.
MS3=Mazdaspeed3. Ask me about one

is that the one thats like a 3 dr? or is that the mazdda 6? sorry i dont know much about mazda...other than they used rotorary for the longest time.
cause if its the 3dr i'll take the cobalt, a current ss/sc beat my stealth in a highway race...i missed third, but the lil car was able to move, even at 130 he was able to pull

He must have had some mods then, cause ive been in a race with a stock one in my buddies rsx-s with i/h/e kpro and it got walked pretty hard

well wen u consider that i wasnt actually driving my stealth my ex-gf was, and like i said she missed 3rd gear(good driver tho), and having talked to the owner of the cobalt, i wouldnt doubt if it was modded. we also were doing a 3-2-1 horn count. he went on the first blow...so we played catchup. and we did catch and were passing, but third blew our chances

A TT 3/S should not have any problem taking on a SS/SC that is stock. He had to be at least stage 2.

Its a five door, not a three door. And if I could get anyone in a Cobalt SS/SC or Ion Redline to bite, we could test who is faster. I know I put a hurtin on a non-supercharged Cobalt SS.

Ahh no..its not far at all. If you drove straight through with no sleep you could make it in 2 or 3......................days lol. And no one in their right mind would come here right now. It has been around 10º here recently give or take a few degrees. Today was decent though, about 30 out with no wind and lots of sun. It started melting the 4" of snow we got saturday, but starting is all the farther it got. We have been testing numerous cars in the snow (well its not like we have a choice). The fwd ones like mine, my friends Eclipse GT, and my other friend's 3kgt base get around ok, but my friend's z28 on the other hand..............:spit:

A ms3 would eat a ss/sc alive.
Not to mention people are in the 12's with simple bolt-ons with the Ms3. I respect the car a lot, and cant wait to see what time does with it.

Thats what i figured...hell i dont care if i lose, i just think it would be sweet to line up next to one. There is a kid here who has one that looks just like Cassie's....hmmm....this could get interesting. We just need to get rid of this damn snow

Yeah the MS3 would definately eat up the redline/SS Having driven the MS3 and comparing it to both my jetta and rx-8 (Both of which are able to out run the redline/SS) I can definately tell you that a stock MS3 will easily blow past a stock or semi-modded redline/ss. That MS3 has alot of torque for the 3200 pound shell it's carrying.
The handling could use some upgrades on the MS3 though and wider gears wouldnt hurt either since you need to shift to 3rd to get to 60 and you need to shift to 4th to finish a 1/4 mile.

I've never had a problem with the gears, really. The seem to be perfect for alot of the city driving I do, I can just slot it into fourth, and that'll work for me from 40-100, with a blip I can get into third if I need it. Sixth gear pulls only slightly less hard than fourth from the same speed above sixty. I mean, its not a 3000GT gear box, I'm not expecting third to take me to 145.

I know but those extra shifts do restrict the power, I bet the car could be easily a mid 13 second car if it came with gears similar to the rx-8 and a the tune to match the gears, assuming the power stayed the same as the ms3 already is, here is what the gearing is like in the rx8: 1st is 42, 2nd ends at 70, 3rd at 95, 4th at 130something, 5th 160, 6th 168.
With the gears like that it would make the power much much more useable, I only wish the rx-8 had the power to go with the gears, but oh well gotta save up 5k for the stage 3 super charger from pettit
