Pulling the tranny

I was just wondering if there was any chance of replacing the transaxle in my Windstar from the top? Maybe by pulling the motor and the tranny together with a hoist? Does anybody know if this is possible? It's a 96 3.8l.

Hi,
I think the drivetrain went in/goes in from the bottom on the subframe. Unfortunately that make it a little hard to do in the home garage.

Thanks for the reply. :) Thats what my Haynes manual said also but I thought I had read here once that someone was able to pull the engine with a hoist.
