On a Freestar you have to drop the gas tank down about a foot to replace the fuel filter. I did mine last week and I will say is was not bad but man what was ford thinking. I did post pictures so you can see on the Freestar forum but I thought I would bring it up here. Its not bad but if you are thinking on a Freestar
and you don't won't to bother doing this then you might want to think of a shop doing it or not getting one at all..

Ugghhh.... Typical jobs like this should be easy. It just turns into a way for the dealer to charge more labor.

Hmmm - This would be an ideal situation for a filter relocation project!

I don't know if it was a misprint but under my warranty work needed service not performed fuel filter replacement Est.cost 500.00. Still this seems high but maybe a misprint.. But it only took me 30min. Backed it up on ramps and put roll jack under tank. 2 straps 13mm bolts to unhook straps. dropped about a foot and removed filter..3 snap connections go to filter 2 in I out. Still a idiot design...
