van stalls with right turn

My 2000 LX 3.8L consistently stalls when I enter highways with a sharp right turn. WHen this happens, I have to stop, put it in park and it would start right back up. This seems to happens when the gas level is around 1/4 or less. It usually doesn't do this with full tank of gas. Do you guys have the same problem? or is this a signal that something bad is about to happen to the fuel pump ...

Thanks!

Hi
I cannot speak directly to your problem as I have not heard of it specifically on the Windstar. However, I did have a friend with a GM sedan that did exactly the same thing, so they always kept the fuel above 3/8. When they did have it repaired it turned out that "pick up" line for the fuel pump had a small crack near the top. When the fuel level was lower and the car was turning, the pump would suck air from the crack (which was temporarily above the fuel level) and the car would stall.

Perhaps you are dealing with something similar.

Thank you busboy. I think that can certainly explain it regarding my case too. Considering one has to remove the tank to fix this, I'd just keep the fuel tank more than 1/2 mark for now.

Thanks!
