Trans issue

Hey,

I've got two trans issues and was hoping someone could help.

1) Trans jerks into gear (mild tug). I recently had the trans fluid/filter changed at the dealer but it didnt solve the problem. I've heard that it might have some sort of bad sensor?

2) For the last year, when taking off from a stop sign, the car hesitates for about 2 seconds and crashes into gear. Not all the time, but often.

Any help would be a God send. Thanks!

Thanks!if you read my other posts i had the same problem now for about 6 months and it does not throw a ses code on the message center,at the deal they hooked her up to scanner to see ifthere was any codes stored and it was'nt,also the car only does it every now and again, when i bring her to the dealer it never happens when they rd test it so thet don't know what to fix if they can't find it,its a sticky solienide or something,my buddt at the tranny show told me hoe to fix it,when you park your car at night, unhook your neg battery terminal, leave it off over night for at least 10-12 hours, then reconnect it then take her for a half hour drive around town so the computer will relearn all the shift points again, unhooking the neg erases any hidden codes stored, for me,so far so good and the tranny works better then new,try this and let me know what happened, mine is working like a top and at the end my car was reving up from the start and banging into gear also, plus changing gears very rapidly from 1-2-3-4 before she hit 30 km's other times she would change slow and thump into gear, these trannys in the impalas are fampous for this thing, you may have to unhook the neg terminal and erase your computers memory 3- 4 time of the year,no big deal if it works for you

Actaully there really is a big improvement after following your recommendations. Still an ever so slight jerk so maybe I will try it again. I'm still getting a funky , hard jerk from a dead stop - as if my breaks are sticking . I'll have to take it in I think but its been going on for sometime now.... I just changed the rotors and pads myself so....

I just changed the rotors and pads myself so....i had all 4 rotors cut and replaced the pads, when their cut they are not a smooth shiny surface so the pads will stick to the rotors as if you are driving with your foot on the brake a little like the car does'nt free roll and also the steering is stiffer, after 2 months of torture thinking there was a sticky caliper this was not the case,i bought 4 brand new cheap rotors and the problem fixed, smooth and free rolling and easier steeringmwhen rotors are cut they are not smooth like new ones are and she will not free roll because the rotors have grouves in them thatcauses the pads to stick

I unhooked the negative from the battery and let it sit for about 11 hours. I then drove it to work (takes about an hour to get there). Let it sit while at work. Now its been a few days. I'm still getting slight jerk that is noticable but it is better. Maybe I should try this again for 12 hours....

I'm willing to try it. Sounds like it works. Thanks again...+

UPDATE - Hey, its been two days now and it did seem to work. I kept the negative cable off for almost 24 hours then drove the car for about 30 minutes. Feels pretty darn good now. Really appreciate the advise. Thank you again.
