if u got caught its ur ass but it gives me a rush ,street racin is madd fun they should make track in each state so peeps wouldnt have 2 go so it illagely.

I'm down with the sickness, I organize street races, any raceing is unsafe wether its on a track or not. Those gigantic cinderblock gaurd rails at some tracks, scare me more than an open road.

i think i would be into it if i didnt drive a truck...

the only ones that have me is the 3000gt that my friend jess drives (the one in sig), and a eclipse gst...

Plus I loved that car. It really messed me up. Ended taking a whole month off from work to recover. Well, from that day forward I promised myself I would never street-race again. I figure God gave me a second chance at life.
At that point my insurance was seriously messed up so I couldn't buy another V8. That's why I got me a 420a Eclipse. Plus it's little 140-hp engine keeps the temptation of racing down....

Yep..I just got involved in it..I've only done 2 races and won both in my stock GSX..beat my friend in his '89 turbo supra, and my friend in his'97 or '98 (can't remember) 'tang GT..ha..but only because he spun out about 90 degrees at the start of it..I know he would probably take me out if he didn't OH yea I also took out my friend in his uhhh 3GT vr-4.......................*cough*

Ya I'd do it, but like, when there is no civillians on the roads or nearby... i dunno, i just wouldnt want to kill someone! Plus... cops :/ frickin tickets and insurrance... i'd get killed by it.

For me the streets are where its at. Its hard to explain, but there's something there that pushes you harder and faster than when you're at the track.......maybe its the cops........ :badass:

there's a long thread about street racing in the STREET RACING FORUM, which is really where this post should have gone...

i'm not much of a fan of it, especially organized, but that's me...

i'm not going to say i don't drive ridiculously fast, but i don't prescribe to the street racing side.

I think street racing is cool as long as you're not stupid doing it in the flow of a bunch of traffic and driving all wild and all over the road, hell I just got finished spanking an Integra a lil while ago.

i'm not down with organized street racing, I dont trust those other people who dont know how to drive and trying to impress people.
and hundreds of cars and only one or two entrances dont cut it for me either.

I rather catch you at a traffic light or on the highway

i definately agree... i go fast all the damn time.. my car was just about impounded (twice) in a 30 minute period, but thankfully, the cops can't drive as well as i can, or they can't keep up, because well... they were not able to keep up. i am not sure what to contribute this to, but they did not have anything on me when they pulled me over and frisked me, and put me in handcuffs and sat me in the back of the car. i really did nto enjoy this experience too much at all, and i learned my lesson... i did not drive above the speed limit any more (for the next 2 days) but when you are in a car like mine, it is just about impossible to not speed.. maybe i have some disorder or something wrong with me mentally that i always feel the need to speed, but oh well... i deal with it :)

I'm all for racing. I haven't really done much myself, but then again, my car's not all that fast. However.. amasingly, my car DID beat my brother's 91 integra gs.. though I'm not sure weither to attribute that to my car or rather my skill of driving. I like the cars, and the culture.. going to races with mah friend and his 98 Spyder, and.. enjoying.. all de womenz.

Personally, i wouldn't like people trying to shorten the already short name of my car. It's not a 'Clipse, it's an Eclipse. If Mustang owners can get bitchy about there cars being called 'Stangs, then i will be next to Spectrum and be bitchy about my car.

the abbreviation " 'Clipse " sounds wrong. You dont say 'Gra, or 'Vic, or 'Maro.

well people do say "'maro"

why cant they call it by the proper name, if the manufacturer had wanted them to call it maro then they would have named it that, then they would probably say"ro"

If your looking for cats in Maryland, people race right off Liberty road in B-more and I have heard about spots in Wheaton (MoCo) and New Carrolton (PGCo) near the train station.

I don't see you complaining about THAT. hey, I got a custom logo made from honda/acura parts... hey, and my accord's pretty fast compared to most other's of the same breed... plus, logo's coming ovv, once I finish my work, R (not Type-R) is going to adorn the trunk.. kuz tha car wil race, and it will dominate it's class ^_^... (or I will have put all the money into it for no reason) -_-... neways.. just having fun with mah car.. that's not a sin, is it?

what is pretty fast? with the listed mods, i would not expect you to be any more than 1.5 seconds faster. granted that at a 16 second 1/4 mile that is a bunch of car lengths, but still, that is a slow car. dont even try to act like you are a street racer. i don't think that you know what street racing is.

please, inform me - what class is your car? i did not know that cars that stret race raced in classes. just because my car is faster than many cars out of the factory with the same name does not mean that my car is fast. you are still a ricer, and you will not ever be anything different until you realize that unless you have a car that can run under 13 seconds, you do not have a fast car. when you could buy a Z28 for 20,000 dollars, and have a stock 13.0 car, anything slower than that is not fast. if you want to argue that, go to a civic page, and brag about your 15.5 to 16.0 runs. if the stock car runs 17's, yes, you are much faster than the stock, but still.. not a huge accomplishment. with your listed mods, i would say there is no way that you can even get into the 14's, so again, you are not fast.

If a Honda is an econobox then so is a DSM, labeling one a sports car and the other an econobox woulden't be fair. Plus there are many different models.
