Nothing's up with #19R - it's no longer in the US, now in the UK and no longer in the LARK livery :)

Lanzante has been working on a full restoration of the car - a task that has stretched on for a period of about two years, partially due to some legal issues with the previous owner according to one person I spoke with.

Many will recall it was suspected to be a participant at this past year's Goodwood FOS but didn't attend. Hopefully it will be on the roster for the 2013 event instead.

Why such an extensive restoration?

hurstg01
11-26-2012, 01:31 PM
The condition of it when it arrived in the UK was far from good; I'd go as far to say I was shocked to see it in it's state when it was initially bought over. That kind of refurbishment takes time; marry that to what Erik alluded to and add a bit more for great paintwork and an exacting eye to detail by the owner and the company that are doing the refurbishment. I have a feeling its going to be great :)

OK thanks Erik!
Very strange, this Le Mans livery.
Sorry if I have missed something now but, #15R raced after Le Mans with Gulf #6 and Zhuhai with Marlboro livery, and if it now today has that Le Mans livery, question is HOW it's possible or did they just over "painted" the car after Le Mans and Zhuhai and took them off and so on?
What is the story here?

Marlboro livery was just a wrap.

Same with the Davidoff livery on #03R or the San Miguel livery on #06R or the Ueno Clinic livery on #02R. Probably other examples I'm forgetting too.

OK, I allmoust quessed this, just needed to ask if I'm missed something. Well, atleast; the Le Mans livery is probably the most historic one to have, even not the rares't but the history is 100% there.

I think it's a right time to have some check list about GTR's:
Just in case, so please correct it if anything wrong here.

-#01R safely in McLaren protection
- #02R in UK.....
- #03R stays in Germany, going to street conversion? Stays WEST?
- #04R in UK, Lark livery around 50%? Street legal or not?
- #05R in UK, street legal, allmoust full 95' Le Mans Cesar-livery
- #06R in UK with 95-96 Harrods livery
- #07R in UK? street legal, Papaya Orange
- #08R still in Bahrain? Street legal, Papaya Orange
- #09R still in Brunei's show room with #01R Le Mans 95' livery
- #10R still on UK owned by Nick Mason, 96' GTR presentation livery
- #11R in Italy, street legal Papaya Orange?
- #12R still on UK with full? BPR GT series GULF livery
- #13R still owned by Andy?
- #14R still on UK, owned by Adrian Neway, Papaya Orange
- #15R sold to the Duncan Hamilton GULF Collection
- #16R stil owned by #16R (writer's name on the forum)
- #17R still on USA
- #18R still #16R's livery located to BMW Museum

Longtails; no changes throught #19R-28R to owners or locations today?

And my friend asked one day, which company will do these street legal - changes? Is it only McLaren who has skills to do that or is also Lazante one of the few company's which can do these changes from racer to street legal?

I've been informed we can now add this one to the list of GTRs which have sold for 'road car money'. Once again, to the right buyer and with the right history the tide has turned.

One might even argue this one does not have 'the right history' but clearly the buyer is very pleased. :)

I respectfully ask the forum members to list the chassis # (when known) when posting pics. This will allow us to search the forums for pics of particular cars, and for those of us who don't know them all by heart, we won't have to struggle to figure out which car we're viewing.

Probably a warning about driving the car as these aren't usually torked to operating specs, HAND TIGHT! Maybe a manufacturer name too. They're nice compared to the others I've seen, usually some bright color...And they're appropriately marked in Blue & Red for the side of the car...

Started my year well when i saw 10r on sunday. Missed it a few times in the last couple of years. Seen it in plain red at silverstone & goodwood years ago.
The show also had 3 mp4-12c gt3 cars,
United Autosports
Lark-von ryan racing
& Can am edition no25, which turned out is for sale at a garage 20 miles from me!

Going back to 10r, the car looked great. Took plenty of photos including wheel nut & 20th anniversary meet plaques. Got talking to lady on stand who moved the barriers for me to get a better front end shot. She said people on trade day had been trying to sit inside it & making up fake stories saying they had permission off someone! One visitor moved the barriers himself!& another time a child stood on the front splitter! I told her i would gladly be a security guard for the car!
Apologise's for not uploading photo's yet. Greg knows how useless i am at technical stuff.
You never forget the first time you see a GTR livery after years of waiting.
