Finally, someone has been allowed to show #19R without its stickers - it looked mean just in the black :)

Yep, it defenitely looks good!
Fortunately it has today the presentation livery. Fantastic. I bet the car will stay in UK in sure hands!

Why does 26R wear 24R's 1997 24 Hour livery when 26R finished 3rd and 24R DNF? Can't for the life of me think of why, but I remember Erik making note of that a while back. Can't be just because they prefer the #42 over #43...

The only theory that makes any sense to me is that they prefer to showcase the driver lineup that piloted 24R. The first two names in the #42 car being hugely recognizable and respected in the world of racing and only the diehard fan is going to recall their finishing order from 1997.

24R = #42 = J.J.Lehto / N.Piquet / S.Soper

26R = #43 = E.Helary / P.Kox / R.Ravaglia

Shared on Twitter by the curator of the ROFGO Collection recently - 15R and 22R and some other decent stuff, in case there was any question.

I see a plate on 15R there. Did we know that?

ERI thought it was known it was going to be road converted, just not what the plate was going to be?

This could be true and if so then I didn't recall.

I think converting for road use was smart. It is a reversible process as I understand and opens up interesting potential for the owner who has plenty of other race cars he can't drive to Le Mans if he wanted.

I am certain I read an article several years ago where 12R was actually road tested and it was on legal plates then and has been for some years with the same Registration. I am certain there are pictures of the Reg plate clearly shown when it was being shown by Lanzante.

That is an early photo of 16R, but taken when it was for sale around 2003, so not quite as early as when it was first road registered.

The second shot is 23R in the paddock at Mont Tremblant in modern times - 2010 I think.

Is there anywhere images, where #16R is just converted to road legal? Before 2003?

OK I thought it is 99% sure #23R. But never know these things. Is there any detail where you can see which one it is, this angle?

*sigh* seeing 16R in semi-Fina colors makes me wish it wasn't papaya. Wish I could afford that car and put it back in Fina livery along with 24R for that matter. :(

Peloton25

I actually love that 24R still wears its EMKA/EMI livery - not that I necessarily find it more visually appealing, but it is such a great story coming 4th overall that year that it deserves to be remembered.

Plus then we'd have 4 FINA/Team BMW Motorsport liveried cars and during the 1997 season there were never more than two at a time at an event.

It would also force the resolution of the inaccurate livery on 26R (unlikely to occur) as there would be twins.

I forgot to mention I also want 08R in Fina presentation livery. :)

So basically I want 08R, 16R, 17R, 18R, 21R, 23R, 24R, and 26R all in Fina at the same time. At the same place. :)

I know the EMI livery is more special based on finishes and history, but the McDonald's colors don't suit the car well. Plus I love BMW Motorsport way too much. Can't get enough of it imo. :)

Two copies of the #42 at LeMans?! Perfect! :)

Fantastic to see it displayed. The gathering at MTC in 2010 was the last time wasn't it?

Shame it doesn't have it's full livery though I'd imagine it's the same for that car as it is for their collection of F1 cars. Something to do with current sponsor deals or something?

Be nice if it was fired up at some point.

It was still patina'd, so a stone chip in the windscreen, missing and scuffed paint in areas, ill-fitting front ducting, dirt behind the radiators, dirty engine bay and faded paint but it was bloody lovey :). It didn't look like it had run for a fair while though

I think they don't do the full liveries as it would mean putting tobacco ads back on it. Seems to be something people are avoiding nowadays even though it's never made me want to smoke...

Be nice if it was fired up at some point.

They got it running again not too long ago as it was supposed to be destined for one of the Far East dealerships. Never seemed to materialize over there though. :dunno:
