Hey peoplez, i'm new here, (and honestly new 2 forums lol) but i have an 02 Windstar that's i'm trying 2 get 2 pass emissions, but can't. I keep getting codes P0172 and P0175, indicating i'm running rich (both banks) I've been searching around the net, and apparently not 2 many people are having these problems! :rolleyes:weird. So anybody got advice?
I should first mention, i am very mechanically inclined, and already tested the O2 sensors and found them to be producing proper voltage, and all egr equipment seems 2 be in good working order. Also, Plugs, wires, filters, pcv valve all fairly new. (i'm pretty meticulous with maintenance on all my vehicles)
Just this one puzzles me O.o? Anybody got advice?
Thanx

Hi
Just speculating - Mass airflow sensor? Clean it perhaps. Same with intake air temp sensor which may be integral to the MAF. Coolant/engine temp sensors? PCV system-clear and normal, PCV valve?
Just trying to think of all the ways the PCM gathers info for proper fuel/air mixture.
Good luck I'll thumb through the manual.

Hey thanx! I did some research and found one archive on another site a person having the exact same problems posted. He used the Barometric pressure sensor to test the mass airflow sensor? and determin it was the culprit. :licka: i didn't understand how he did that... I'll post the link below if you'd like 2 take a look. I'm going 2 purchase the mass airflowsensor and see if that cures the problem. I'll let u know what happens! ^_^
