HAHAHAHA, I'm wondering the same thing. I saw a loose wiring harness that I think they disconnected from the button, and it's stuffed beside the fuse box. I haven't had the time to pull the dash and connect it to see if it does anything. The police package is beautiful if your car is still in good shape. Considering the abuse I put on the car, mine is doing ok.

I just got it from a friend of mine he drives a tow truck he said buy it certified and e tested $ 1800 but then i saw the tranny is shot
so he says $300 as is i took it now it getting a tranny instaled for $900
so 2001 impala ex police with 160km in a rustless frame/unibody and new tranny with shift kit for $1200.00
P.S let me know if the wiring harness does anything, it will sure help when i get the car back

nope it doesn't do anything. the button is already wired to the original harness. I have no idea where they cut the connections. My car has loose wires everywhere. That's probably a source of some of my problems. They're nice cars if you take care of them. Their suspension parts are more expensive due to the police package (if you buy from the dealers).

I think they might have either A) Cut the wires from that button between the button it self, and the BCM or B) Put in a BCM with no Police Options on it.
