sunroof frame rust

i have a 2001 sc2 with a sunroof. i just noticed when i had it open today the frame's rusting on the inside along the glass. i'm totally dismayed to see this! what can i do about this? how does that roof come off? i noticed a while ago little bumps in the rubber molding around the glass on top of the roof & wondered what the deal is with this. i guess it's rust underneath? i cant believe it! the car's got 30,000 miels on it & is in prestege condition & i hardly even open that roof!

I have a 93 SL2 with the same rust. The front section of the frame is essentially gone away. I would try to get another frame from a junkyard, except it might be as bad or worse - plus its not likely I would be able to open the sunroof on a car in the junkyard.

I hope an expert answers your query. what i want to know is if the frame seperates from the glass or is it just one assembly. mine's just a little surface rust, but i want to know how i will go about repairing it. it would be easier to repair the rust if the frame comes off the glass. i would imagine a 93's sunroof is different from mine...
