1995 Buick LeSabre

this is the problem, when i drive my car my speedometer, and my tranny does not shift. If the check light is on this items will not work, when the light comes off the speedometer will work and the transmission will shift. I was told it was speed senor on my transmission, but does anyone know where it is located and how to remove it?

The VSS is located on the rear of the right end of the transaxle, just above and behind the right half-shaft hub. BNaylor has a diagram posted in this thread:
