Well, this Ferrari started life as one kit back in November, but it ended up being part of 3 kits over the last 8 months. I can proudly say that as of today, it is finally finished for good. I hated way too much of this build, but when I look at it now, it looks fantastic. Here is what I did:
1. Fujimi F430 Challenge kit
2. Crazy Modeller Photo etch set
3. Tamiya - Enzo turn signals
4. Tamiya - Racing white paint - prepped to 12,000
5. Final wax
6. Stripped and painted wheels semi-gloss black - widened wheels by .05
7. SMS Carbon for the engine bay
8. SMS Photo etch seat belts
9. E-Jan Emblems for the Ferrari badges and for the wheel centers
10. All vents cut out for photo etch pieces
11. SMS Faux Fabric used on interior pieces
12. Tamiya tape used for rollbar padding
13. Light panel line wash
14. Lots of TLC
I hope you all enjoy the finished product!

Yeah, all the good work clearly shows, outstanding!
If i might add one little comment what could be improved; maybe a tiny tiny line of black permanent marker on the front lightcovers would make a difference. Otherwise, A+ in my book :)

I did indeed think that but I looked at my sources also. The main photo I used was one from this:

I also looked after all of my research models. None seemed to have black edges. Who knows, lol.

Great work. I was going to say it needed a stripe or a number decal then saw the 1:1 car you were modeling it after. No need!

Looks really great! F430s have really caught me, despite myself. The Challenges are sexy and you've really captured the look with this one. The white paint choice is excellent! I can only say the PE used for the window.. vent.. things are a bit heavy handed (I believe they are plexi on the 1:1?), but otherwise, a gorgeous, fantastically detailed build. Thanks for sharing!

Outstanding work! I like white cars...
One thing, though: If it is a street car - shouldn't it have a license plate?

That's a very nice build!! The white paint works very well with the black wheels (I personally have a thing for lighter-colored cars with darker wheels :sunglasse) and brings the whole thing into a fantastic unison of Ferrariness! :sunglasse

worth the wait! What's cooking next?
Cool, glad to hear you like it. What is next is either the 360 CS I need to do for the Ferrari 60th, or a 599 LM I have been thinking about lately?! Or, I might just finish the Jeep CJ-TJ conversion. Or I might try a Ducatti or,....... you get the idea. lol
Great work. I was going to say it needed a stripe or a number decal then saw the 1:1 car you were modeling it after. No need!
Well, I wouldn't say "modeling" it after, but the main idea for the build. I didn't want the typical Challenge.

Thanks Gray, I agree, it does have it's own "look". So far I have never seen one like this let alone on the forums. That was my goal/hope for it.

Thanks Willimo. I debated for a long time about the window pe. I know it is not right to use the metal there as they are indeed plexi or the like. But,.....I also like the machined look of the pe ones. Kind of made it look more heavy duty?! Who knows, I can always yank them off.
I love it! The black wheels with white paint looks awesome!
Thanks!

LOL, it is still a track car and not the CS yet! Or, it is still on the lot? LOL No model of mine will ever have a license plate. :runaround:

Hi Jon,
Absolutely FANTASTIC work! Everything has come together wonderfully. I love all the detail work, especially the brakes and rims...Good lord!
The paint is awesome. I wish I had the same outcome with my effort...I have a few problems.
Great work once again, Jon!
Cheers, Rick
