It dings regardless of whether or not the key is in the ignition. A small problem, but irritating.
I did a search but I didn't see anyone else with this problem. I don't know much about cars, but I think I could probably learn to change a fuse, if that's what people think the problem probably is.
Does that sound like just a fuse problem?

Bad "key minder" switch in lock cylinder. Tells when key is inserted. Sounds like it's stuck in "key in" position.

That makes a lot of sense, b/c some idiot actually took my car for a joyride a few years ago, and I noticed at the time that the ignition was messed up. (Though it's been working all this time.)

This problem is common for Saturns. Mine does the same thing. I know how to fix it, but it doesn't irritate me enough to bother with it.
