If you like the car, get it... Simple as that...
And as far as aftermarket goes? Haha, honestly you can do whatever your twisted little mind tells you to do with it, just don't come in here showing off your t1gh7 sh1t y0...

So you're getting a car to impress other people? Hmmm....I thought you're supposed to get a car for yourself :dunno:.
just don't come in here showing off your t1gh7 sh1t y0...
 but seriously, any car can be made fast. But if you really want a fast car, why start with an accord? If you're looking for decent performance and still a daily driver, then yea the accord is a good choice. Try to plan a little in advance...

Honest response to your last post... Don't try to "upgrade" your Accord... Please, save yourself the trouble...
Keep the money and save up for a car worth making fast(er)... Accord is just ... not it...

Accord is just fine. Get the V6 model, I/H/E her, maybe some spray. It'll be decently wuick, and perfectly reliable as a daily driver.

Like KiillaKam said, the accord is not something you make into a street racer. I'm not into Hondas, but I dont think there is much (any?) after market support for it. It all depends on what you are looking for and how much $$ your willing to spend.
I'll tell you what I did. I saved up a little over $15k. I was looking at RX7's, 300ZX's, some Supras, I thought maybe even an older RS4 (2.7TT), E36 M3, previous gen Cobra, etc....
Then I realized I don't have a garage. That means I would have to park it on the street, and a few had been stolen or broken into over the past couple years. I wouldn't have a lot of money for after market/repairs (and german cars are crazy expensive to fix, just ask KillaKam) and the car would have to be very dependable as I drive it to school & work. A few of my friends had Maximas. I drove them and was pretty impressed. It came down to this: the maxima is no racer, but it really goes for a 4dr family sedan, its very dependable, on the rare occasion when something does break, its usually cheap to fix, Maximas are stolen, but not nearly as much as others around my neighborhood. I decided to spend 4500 and save for something more serious in the future. If I want there is the Stillen V2 Supercharger kit for my car which, with some other mods puts it around 380bhp.
I know I'm :screwy: to write all that, but the point is, take everything into account, and then make your choice.

wait, you mean accords aren't rice from the factory already?
just kidding, if you really want the accord and want that clean image look, get the v-6, rims, drop, tint, no after-market tail lights, you can get away with smoked lights. get HIDs, no fart cans. That, is pretty much a simple clean look.
you kind of sound like me when i first started, i went toyota instead of honda, that's a hint.

Do you want an accord or do you want a fast car?
Some of the poor kids that work with me, i.e. grew up in the ghetto without a dad and mom worked three jobs waiting to collect her government cheese, some of those guys look at accords and go "dayum son, now that be a car I wantz yo, shiz playa car be balling!"
so if you think an accord is a sweet ride and want one get it!
Now if you want a fast car then be smart and start out with a fast car and make it even faster.
if class and status is what you seek then get a bimmer or a merc or even an Infinity.
Accords are a dime a dozen and you see them everywhere. also with I/H/E and juice they run what? same times as a bone stock Stang GT?

to be honest i really dont really like the accord coupe that much it was just one of my better options and i was wondering if it was a good one.
what do you think about the mazdaspeed6 can you find v6 ones used easily?
ive found many bmw's that were well in my price range and only a couple years old, and still had more power than the accord, but im just afraid of the high cost of repairs
im still researching which car would be the best fit for me, im going to buy one by the end of the summer so i still have some time

To make it a little faster you could just add some run of the mill stuff like induction kit, super chip, performance exhaust system etc.
If you want a really fast car the Rx7, Skyline, and Supra are all good cars.

The mazdaspeed 6 and the V6 mazda 6 are completely different cars, the MS6 will run you about 25g used and 28g new. you can find a mazda 6s which is the V6 at anywhere between 12g-18g used of course depending on the year and milage.

however between the two, mazda 3 (the highest trim) and the honda accord coupe what would be the best decision of the two

musashi-sama has a good point, but he's forgetting the fact that you're only 16. Most 16 yr olds with "fast" cars that mommy and daddy bought them usually drives like an ass, acts like an ass, and crashes trees like an ass. No offence to you because i don't even know you, but if you don't mind me asking, what is your situation? still in high school? do you have a job? is mommy and daddy loaded? etc etc.....
between the mazda and accord, it's a hard choice for me to decide. You're talking about the mazda mx-3? hatchback? if so, i believe they also had a v6 option. Meh, i'd get the mazda if it's running strong, low mileage and nothing wrong with it.
oh, and i went toyota corolla.

Just get a SRT-4 and leave it at that...
They shouldn't be too expensive nowdays... They're decent as a DD, fairly fast stock, and can be made to impress...

rotary engine are definetly not the greatest when it comes to longevity and they also compare to a lawn mower in the torque feild but i guess it would be a good choice they are very light and have perfect 50/50 weight distribution

Just for that comment Im gonna give you an internet smack.
Your comment falls under what the crowd says, "rotaries are not good for longevity" That's BS. The reason everyone says that is because of the problems the FD had (1993-1995 in US) And the problems were easily dealt with if you knew what you were doing. My step father had a 86 non-turbo FC and he got well over 200,000 miles out of it. He ended up getting rid of it cause he needed a bigger car cause my brother was born.
And what about the countless number of RX-7's with the 12A motor? (The first gen rx-7) Those are still running, probably stronger than alot of other cars.
Also the RX-8 motor is the strongest and most reliable rotary to date. People are clocking in over 70,000 miles now with no problems and the ones who mod the car can do it fairly easily, there are guys who are running about 400-450 whp with stock internals as a daily driver with no issues.
As long as you do routine maintenance on the car the engine will live for a very long time. But that can be said about any car.

They don't require extra maintenance, they require different maintenance. It is sort of like when people think that cars with turbo-charged engines aren't reliable. It isn't the cars fault, it is the owner.

Those people who you see who always have their car in the garage are the people who dont know how to take care of them, they treat them like they are anyother car, they arent. As polygon said, different engine so different maintenance.

They don't require extra maintenance, they require different maintenance. It is sort of like when people think that cars with turbo-charged engines aren't reliable. It isn't the cars fault, it is the owner.
true but like i said i only hear negative things about rotarys when it comes lasting a long time

then you should do some research yourself and come to your own conclusions.

yeah like i said i still have no idea im no closer to getting a RX-8 than getting a beatle
honestly i have done a TON of research on cars and i just want to get as many opinions as i can and look at as many cars as i can to find the best one for me, and these lists you guys are giving are really helping me look at cars i wouldnt have looked at before
o and i forgot to ask what cars you would/wouldn't put a CAI and a catback exaust on that have been listed, mainly
Accord
Mazda 3
RX-8
Jetta GLI
Mitsu. eclipse
Sentra SE-R
Civic si
Personally i like the sound of a deep sounding exaust, not like a jetplane, i think it adds to the car IMO

its too bad that im the only one really contributing anything other than some dunce that suggested you to buy a fuckin' skyline... as for everyone else they seem to be more interested in the reliability of the renesis rx-8 engine

Get off your high horse. This forum has survived without your 17 years of wisdom and I'm willing to bet it will be here long after your a faded memory...
All your offering is what you have heard. Thats just as helpful as the guy that suggested the Skyline, and why is it that he's a dunce for giving his opinion just like everyone else including yourself. I believe that your the dunce and the only thing your doing is chit-chatting online and getting your post count up. Thats it. You offer nothing unless one of us needs pointers on stealing our parents cars. Dipshit!..
I guess thats how you thugs roll in Cincy, huh...Go kill yourself....

dont get anything that can move faster than the rx-8
get the sentra se-r, the mazda 6 is a good one too
let me tell ya, if i had a vr4 at the age of 16-17 i wouldnt be here right now...and i firmly beleive that..let your first car be something that isnt a slouch but not too fast, something that will hold its value pretty well and thats gonna last you a good while.....thats all you need to be worried about right now

My advice to you is get something that gets you good gas mileage. If you have 25 grand to spend your options are unlimited. Most of us would have you get what we have. So, I suggest a 03-04 Comp G GTP. It would cost you around 15 grand at the most and with all that money you save you can mod it nicely to beat just about anything you will encounter, but the car would be plenty fast for you until you get a little more time behind the wheel....
Nothing is sweeter than looking into the face of the person that you just beat with your 4-door grocery getter. :smokin:

i guess ill have to kill myself cuz you aint got the balls to do it and the guy mentioned the skyline is a dunce because it is well out of the kid's budget and wat are the chances of it....
i dont think there is a big chance of any skyline owner givin up there car without a fat sack of chips.....
and lastly dont disrespect me dude cuz i didnt disrespect you or anyone else here and i bet you wouldn't say that to any nigga in my hood....
get on topic and help the kid with his question and stop tryin to punk out an adolescent on the internet...and leave the hyundai thing alone....

^^ well said. since its your first car power is somewhat negligible. "learning" to drive and gaining experience is key right now. Personally i think the Mazda 3 is a great choice ( or the scion tC, if u dont mind driving a girls car haha). 160hp is more than enough for a beginner, fuel efficient and brand new its well under your 25k limit.

yeah my dad and i went to test drive one today and i really liked it, i havent tested an accord coupe (which my dad really likes) yet but we will see
do you think it would be a good choice to get a manual 1st becasue it is a grand cheaper and 2nd to learn how to drive one so i dont have to do it later??
