It's 07/07/07-
So together with enjoying (or ignoring) today's worldwide concerts and remembering the events of London two years ago, we're concluding the AF Super 7 Group Build.
2007 marks 50 straight years of production of the Lotus/Caterham Super 7. It's been made in 4 different series, produced by two different manufacturers, and built and driven by many, many enthusiasts. It has also inspired countless modifications, evolutions, and a number of similar kit cars, many of them great cars in their own right. 7 enthusiasts (http://www.blatchat.com/) the world over are celebrating (http://www.50yearsofthe7.co.uk/) Colin Chapman's magnificent creation, and many are choosing today in particular (there's supposed to be quite a turnout of 7s for Silverstone this weekend).
I've started a thread in the Completed section (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=724432). If you've built along for the group build, please post your build there. Post a few of your best pics, a link to your build thread, and a description of your build. If you didn't finish by today, no worries! You're certainly not alone. :grinno: Please post in the thread anyway with pics of your build as it currently is. When you finish your build, feel free to update your post with completed pics.
Thanks to everyone who participated!

Got plenty of thoughts. But I wanted to get this one wrapped up first- before launching another one, I want to be sure we can land this one. In a day or so, we'll start talking about what we as a forum would like to see from organised 'official' group builds- how long, how often, how specific a subject and so on. All the boring stuff :uhoh: before we can get on with the building. :grinyes:
But I'm really happy with how this one turned out. I had figured from the beginning that if we'd seen 5 people build it would be a success, and we've had alot more participation than that! I think the number of builds finished was not particullarly important- as long as people built along and had fun doing it, it was a success.
So get your digi camera working and post your build, Oli!

Hi guys,
I really enjoyed the 7 group build. Lots of fun and inspiration...
I'd like to participate in the next group build, but most likely I can't because I'll be in South Africa for almost 7 month.
PS: Did I just say "7 month" :grinno:
