2000 impala Headlight Issues

The following picture is what I'm going to try to explain, My headlights (http://www.chevroletforum.com/m_35614/tm.htm#) were working fine, went in to eat, we came back out and when the headlights come on this is what happens, pictured is low beam, only the driver side low shines bright as normal, same if on high beam, only driver side, the remaining three barley burns, keep in mind on one on each side is suppose to burn bright (normal) at one time, so two of these lights should not even be getting power to them. Using an Meter on the passenger side headlight assembly it only gets 11.8v to the harness and 11.3 to the bulb socket, as the driver side gets the full 12v that it should.

Also I have noticed that when the driving light sensor turns on the lights itself, my lights will have a quick strobe effect to them, if the fog lights (http://www.chevroletforum.com/m_35614/tm.htm#) are on it will also flash them very quickly, afterwards fog lights always shine as normal, but headlights remain messed up.

I have got the schematics from GM (http://www.chevroletforum.com/m_35614/tm.htm#) on the Power Distribution to check my grounds, but I have no idea where the grounds are located at this time. If anyone has had this problem, or has ANY suggestions on things to try or how to fix, it would be more than Greatly Apreciated!! Thanks in Advance.

IT sounds like a bad DRL module. When people try to bypass the daytime running lamps (for whatever reason), they get the same result as you have. The passenger headlamp is dim/off, and the driver side is ok. The brights being on when not selected could also indicate a bad dimmer/multifunction switch.

The Fuel Pump Module and DRL Module had the same part numbers, so I switched them to see if that was it, no change, also the multifunction switch where the fog light button and manual headlight on/off is, since I bought the car last year it had a burnt prong on the back that made all my dash lights quit, but it never gave me a problem with the headlights, so I put it off. Do you think it could still be that switch?

Thanks.

Just wanted to update on this issue. After switching around the many relay's and modules for the DRL's. We finally found the problem. It was a 15a Mini Fuse located in the top relay box under the hood. In that box it's the 15a fuse on the bottom left labeled "EXT LIGHTS" I thought I had checked all the fuses, but I'm sure how it's easy to miss one considering there are fuses everywhere they had room to put them, lol.

Thanks.

look at the the terminals inside the connectors look to see if theere is anykind of moisture inside the connector. Or if there is any kind of melting going on inside the connector your wires my be getting hot so there may be a short or something causing a high amount of resistance in the wires.
