2002 Impala.
No, I am not talking about the light. The actual ABS system comes on while I am driving. Mainly when I am making turns around corners at a stop sign for instance. I am never pushing on the break when this happens so it really doesn't do anything like slow me down, but I know it shouldn't be happening. The light has came on a few times when I first turn the car on, but when I turn the car off and then back on, it always goes away.
I just replaced both my front wheel bearings within the last couple months. I am not sure if there is a problem with the ABS things on them. I was also told about some acronym like UH something something.. Not sure what it was, but apparently its pretty costly, and could be the cause of this.
Just curious if anyone else has ever hears of this, and what could be causing it. If you have any questions please let me know..

I don,t know what exactly, but wonna tell it happened with my car too: when turning from parking lot slow it was skratching on weels and abs light appears. When driven to the road, ir stops and no problem.
What did I do? I opened left weel out. checked abs connection and tighted them well. Now I don't have noices and skratches, but the light is always on. You see. Dribig out from the parking lot on slow speed now is fine (no noice, skratch), but light is on. Now can't find out what reason.
They say needed to check 2 front weels out< clean them by spray strong one of debrich. deposits, dirt and just to put weels back.

Welcome to AF, the abs must be scanned with an abs function scanner to look at wheel speed sensor inputs, one may be bad triggering the condition.

Make sure your tire pressures are equal side to side. That will fool ABS/Traction Control/Inflation Monitor into thinking something is wrong.
* ABS don't like tire "stagger" :)
