We have 91 Saturn with the dual overhead cam engine that we use as a stinger car and we have the car completely stock and we need to find a way to give it alittle more power. Currently we finish in the top 5, but would like a 1st place finish. Any ideas that would help without breaking the bank would be appreciated.

this 91 saturn is the fastest 1.9 i know of - Differentracing.com
but for help with your car, can you please provide more info like what your setup is, what racing style/class, who you are competing with and where you feel you are lacking.

Thanks for replying. We run the car on oval 3/8th mile dirt track. The setup is pretty basic with the suspension. We are trying to find something with the motor to give it a little more juice. We have put a header on the motor and that is about the only non stock part we have. Would bigger injectors possibly do the trick. Any suggestions will be considered and greatly appreciated.

I think you'll have to break the bank to get any serious power on these cars. How big of a gain are you looking for? Regardless, head to www.turbosaturns.net. There isn't really "one thing" that'll add worthy power except a turbo of course. Parts sites to build a better engine at www.saturnmotorsports.com and www.spswebpage.com.

Start by reducing weight. That's free. Then go from there. And by reducing weight, I mean, take out the extra seats, carpet, A/C, spare tire......whatever else you don't need for racing.

not sure if reducing wieght it a great idea for dirt track racing, its already hard for a saturn to get traction with a curb wieght of about 2400lb. but it you have good tires and your not slidding around corners, you might try it. bigger injectiors is a bad idea. unless you are making a large amount of power over stock, the higher flow will just cause you to run overly rich. going to a 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust may be a good next step
