I have a 2002 Impala LS which i bought used (on 06/06/06 :evillol:) . It is equiped with the Low tire pressure sensor which lead me to my problem. I had a flat tire which triggered the Info center Tire message. I read up in the Manual how to clear it and attempted to do so. I can get to the Settings menu on the radio but I cant do anything else. It just sits at "SETTINGS" no matter what button I press or hold on the radio. I managed to clear it by disconnecting the battery. Wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why my menu doens't work..
Is it possible that it is not the original radio, and instead of properly getting a RDS new radio programmed, they did not conneect the radio to the BCM(or where ever it checks the vin) to bypass the RDS Lockout?

I had this same problem when the dealer replaced the BCM in my 02 Impala. They forgot to program it. Take it to the dealer, and have them check the BCM to make sure its programmed. Also, check and see if your fog lights are working right now (since you said you have the LS model, im gonna assume that you have the factory fog lights.) If they don't work, them im 100% sure its the BCM, because it also controls the fog lights. Or, it just could be the radio (doubtful, but theres always the possiblity.) Hope this helps...

My Fog lamps do work, but I think that my BCM is defective/Broken and not just mis-programmed.
A few weeks ago my Battery was completely drained, but I thought nothing of it because it was the orignal battery, figured it was just time for a new one. I had also noticed my clock was loosing 2 - 3 minutes a day which I thought the radio must be really busted. Then three days ago my NEW Battery was completely drained, but although it was unusual for a brand new battery to die like I didn't think much of it and went on my way. I did notice my clock now lost 9 minutes in the 3 hours I was out running Errands. Then yesterday It was dead again and once I got it boosted and went out, the clock again was off by many minutes while I was out doing some stuff..
I spent a few hours looking around the internet last night and I can see I'm not alone. I found another Gentleman who was also having his battery drained and loosing time on his radio. He suggested experimenting by removing the BCM/Cluster fuse, and this morning my clock is dead on the right time, and the battery was just fine, and it's voltage was still near 13V, unlike the night before even tho it wasn't drained, it was down at 7v. So it does appear my BCM has possibly turned rogue on me.. :disappoin

Thats what it sounds like. If youre trying to replace one of your fog lights, youre gonna have to get on the ground and reach behind the light youre trying to change. You dont have to take the lens off. Took me all of 3 mins, and no tools were needed.

Another quick question not worth getting a new thread, Do you or anyone around these forums have any suggestion on how to get Moisture out of my headlights?
Heres a Pic (I don't know how I managed to get the text in the photo.)

They are really starting to get on my nerves:frown:
Hopefully something simple that doens't involve tearing them out of the car :grinyes:

I'd try removing all the bulbs and allowing the lenes to dry completely, maybe for several days. May also try blowing compressed air through them while the bulbs are removed to expedite the drying time. If that does not work buy new ones. My '99 Grand Am has similar lenses anf they were 75$.

My Dad insisted that we take the car to the dealership we bought it from to have it tested. They've had the car for 2 days and the mechanic was pulling his hair out trying to figure it out, and finaly they pulled another Impala Off the lot, and put it's BCM into the car, and let it sit overnight. For only 20$ we know now 100% it's the BCM cuasing all the problems :grinyes:

How do I get the bulbs out? I don't have a clue what I did with my manual and I stood there staring at them and I can't figure it out lol.... N/M found my manual. I'm really having a stupid day, it was so fricken easy to do...

OK, so i pulled the headlights out and dried them out no problem (I brought them in and let them sit for the night) and they looked great, but within 3 hours of sitting outside, they are full of moisture again. Would Drilling one or two small Vent holes on the back of housing help?
