I somehow don't think you could get the CLK GTR.
This is a really tough call. I hate comparo's with such limitations. But, I'd look for a used F1, but if I couldn't find one for that cheap I think I'd go with either an F50, or maybe just something like a 355 and have some money left to insure it:D

Well I would get a Porsche 959 for $400,000 and leave the $600,000 in mods.

It's a friggin Nissan for God'sakes!

02-24-2001, 10:07 AM
Mod a 959? Why would you ruin such a great car? There is no need to mod it anyway.
I would like an F40, because it could take the freakin' ass right out of you. :D

I'd buy a either a 360 Modena Spyder F1, Ferrari F60 or McLaren F1 but the last two ONLY assuming I have $1 million to buy JUST a car and about $10 million in money to live on...
autofan
02-24-2001, 04:16 PM
I'd have to say McLaren F1.
It costs 1 mil, why leave even a penny?

That's why I said that I would need atleast $10 million or more to live off of and $1 million for a car. This topic is "The car to get for 1 million dollars." not "What would you do with 1 million dollars?". Get me?

This is easy for me: Mclaren F1

Hey guys, the Mclarens aren't made anymore and so they probably appreciated in value pushing them well over 1 mil. The CLK-GTR is 2.2 million. I'd take a Hyundai Accent. :D
KennyH
02-28-2001, 08:28 AM
Maybe I would get a Bentley Continental SC or a Mercedes Maybach

03-02-2001, 10:45 AM
ahh...yes the quad turbo, 8.0 liter 1001 din HP V16 engined Bugatti EB16/4 veyron with leather seats, chrome everywhere, styling to kill for,and oh did I mention over 900 ft./Lb torque?! Launching like a fighter jet off the line....more powerful than any non tuner production car ever made, moreelegant than the EB110 ever could dream to be....I WANT ONE!!!!! It goes very well with Bugatti tradition....in the words of the immortal Ettore Bugatti ,"nothing is too beautiful; nothing is too expensive." What a statement....and what a car.
enzo@af
03-02-2001, 01:55 PM
I don't really like the styling. I'm still in love with teh EB110.
Adam
03-02-2001, 04:33 PM
my fav. is the Pagani, but if i had a million then i probably would have enough left over for it, so probably the 16/4 veyron or eb110!
Porsche

I'm actually starting to love Bugatti to.. wierd there cars are amazing! Weren't they the first to come up with the "W" engine? I think the new fast ones are cooler than anything! :)
Adam
03-05-2001, 03:28 PM
i didn't use to care for it.. but now I do. oh yeah, and innotech, do you have another one of those c12's on the front of your site that isn't all blurred and doesn't have your logo?
Racer 20
03-07-2001, 04:30 PM
I'd get a custom car.
McLaren F1 frame and engine
Calsonic Skyline GTR turbos
Mobil 1 NSX suspension or whatever...
etc. etc.

a million bucks is a lot to blow on a car, and anything other than a mclaren is almost not worth it. The bugatti is close, and it may be a much faster car, but it will doubtfully ever be what the mclaren was to the enthusiast public. Gimme a Mosler mt900tt, and blow the rest buying vettes for my friends and fraternity bros.

ACTUALLY.....
w engines are a vw thing... vw owns bugatti, and the w will first appear in a passat... a w8 w/280somethin hp...
also... f1s are going roughly 900k used...
that is a number from mclaren... thas why they arent makin more...
and...i would buy a jag xj220, just cuz i like the style, but first choice is the bugatti quad turbo...

This one would be surprisingly very easy for me: Koenigsegg CC.
However, I did just check a web site with info on it, and I was surprised that it was so cheap. I had thought that it rang in at about $800K, but to my surprise its base price is listed as $268,674 - much cheaper than I thought! :D

I too am very surprised by the CC's low price. The mt900tt also is 260K, but the koenigsegg has much better build quality... It weighs less due to its more intensive use of carbon fiber, and has 5 more hp than the mosler. its close, but I'd have to lean towards the koenigsegg too now... despite its somewhat odd profile. Its exactly the opposite of the f50... any viewpoint normal to one of the planes of the car gives weird impressions, but slightly offset ones are breathtaking....
JD@af
06-18-2001, 01:40 AM
Agreed with the CC impressions from slightly off-set angles. Question: what's your info source on the the Koenigsegg having better build quality than the Mosler? I'm not questioning you, by the way, I'm just curious where you found this out. With a guy like Mosler, I would think the build quality of his automobiles would be the best in the business.
For me, among those great looks, light carbon fiber body, etc., I like the versatility of the design that matches a 0 to 60 time of 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 242 mph. To me that says excellent traction, very wisely spaced gears, low drag coefficient, and a bunch of other similar attributes that stand as positive testament to smart design. This is just a winning car.

Most people already think that way, but those people don't come to this forum.

It's also called the TS020. Toyota used it in '97 and '98 as its Le Mans racer. So, they had to build a road version to qualify. The '98 road version had 591 hp and weighed 1984 lbs. Torque is in the 400s of lb-ft. Tuned for racing it put out 672 hp and 470 lb-ft. It's my favorite GT racing body. :D

I would get a 67 mustang fastback, red with black racing stripes. I would get a total ownage 351 windsor or 390, with a forged titanium block, a roots or twin-screw blower, and just about every power adder imagineable :)

what does total ownage mean?
and how expensive is a forged titanium block, and hell, would it be worth it? and why not just turbo it if you are going with something that strong and lightweight? it makes more sense than an old school s/c. not that they are bad, but a turbo v8 is reeeediculously cool...
