how bout a boss 429 motor... which wooped ass on the nascar circuit against the 426 hemi...

Boss 429's are rare. And in the firstyear the 426 was in NASCAR, it wupped everyones ass. THey were 10mph quicker at Daytona. The next year they were some-what neutered, to make things more equal.

I actually have a magazine from the 60's which has an article on Ford's new engine, a 429 cubic incher that is supposed to be good. If only they knew...

the rarity is what i was goin for... that or a 427 sideoiler...

wow, other people have heard of the ZL-1 too?:D If you're going for rarity, this is it....there were something like 20 produced in the late 60's. That is one badass engine....

isnt that the motor that was in the camaros? the factory drag pak? or was it a vette motor...

too my knowledge, the ZL-1 was only put in two production cars, two '69 Corvettes. The rest of them were sold to private teams, so I guess it probably was sold to some trans-am teams with Camaros.

i know that there was an insane motor like that that went into a nondescript camaro, i cant think of what it was... insane though...

oh..you're thinking of the ZL1 Camaro Concept. That is a knew design, from '96 or '97 I think. That was awesome too. I can't recall the stats off of the top of my head though...

Teh ZL-1 was puyt into two 1969 corvettes. One is still owned by the factory, and is in a museum. The other one is loose on public roads... Top speed(witht eh gearing) is 190mph, but a new rearend and 200 is very much a reality.

I have heard of Camaro's with ZL-1's in them. i believe they were added by people like Yenko, or GM's CONSO department (usually for armoured cars, or stuff like that, but they were able to make some serious performance machines too)

Hehe, a lot of the cars you guys picked are gonna be fun going to the store and picking up groceries in ;). You said you only get one car! Although I guess if you can afford that car you don't need to go to the store... If I were to get 1 "practical" stock car, it would be a BMW M5. With mods I would build myself a ~600HP Skyline GT-R.

For an unpractical car, the TommyKaira ZZ-II would be my first choice hands down (if that thing is ever released). For cars that are available now, I'd get an Ultima GTR, drop a 600HP engine in it and save the rest of my cash. I'm too frugal to want to spend $1M on a car, even if I won the lottery. But if someone really forced me, I'd get the new Lamborghini Mueslix (or whatever that thing is called, Muicelago?).

that looks really similar to the McLaren F1.

It does. The front bumper is very Saleen S7. But the exhausts are too small. Otherwise, very nice.

it reminds me more of a ferrari than a mclaren f1. except that front bumper. the front bumper is alot like the saleen.

ohh, your right. I just found some info on the ZL-1 and besides the two vettes with ZL-1s, there were 52 camaros produced with them. Many were sold to private racers, and ten or so were sold to dealerships for racing. They raced in both the Trans Am series and some drag racing series (maybe the NHRA). Only a few were actual road cars. I would definetley consider one of those with my million:D

yeah, thats too bad. I read in autoweek or some other mag. that fox will gradually phase out all of the other, non-NASCAR programming:angryfire. All that will be left next year is F1, which they already had a contract with when the buyout took place. This really sucks:(

This is just a sample of stuff that I can figure out, I want to be a car designer but, I'd make an amzing forensic scientist. I've seen all of the shows 2 and three times, I could single-handly rob a bank and get away with it. TV shouldn't be exposing all of the flaws in crimes, it makes it easier for people like me.

i've always wondered somethin about robbing banks, or getting lots of money some how, maybe you can answer this:

Say you rob a bank and get like uh.. 2 million dollars. Then you put the money into your bank account. Won't people ask questions about how you got the money? or if you don't put the money into your bank account you just buy everything using cash. Wouldn't people ask questions about how you got the money, or wouldn't the government ask questions about how you got all that money having a job at mcdonalds or something?

I guess the solution is a Swiss bank account...... but maybe i'm wrong

I think it would be a deadly car. Run 9's in the 1/4 at the most. While still being able to handle because of the fully electronic adjustable suspension. A custom wide body kit.

You wouldn't want to spend the whole mill though... how would you pay to run it, LOL

There isnt a law against modding a McLaren. It has lots of room for mods, like turbos or NOS. Say, 15pounds, and 800 (at least) hp is yours! And all the other good stuff stays the same:)

nobody makes turbos for mclarens! I guess you could put nitrous on it though, i wouldn't though.... I don't like all those people that think NOS is god, so i'd rather fly without it :D

if nitrous is your only mod, then yeah, or are worshipping a bottle,
but if you are fully built to the hilt, then add it... you are just utilizing its potential as a power adder... not depending on it...
like a vette that has 650 hp, and 800 w/ nos, im not gonna bitch... or the turbo car that uses nitrous to spool up... no complaint there either... but i get what you are saying...

No one makes turbo kits for F50's either, they are custom-made. The guy with the car created doom, and so far he has spent 250 grand on the TT setup for his F50. He also has an 1100hp Testarossa (courtesy of 49psi!!!!!:eek: )

The thing is if you Turbo'd a F1 etc.. it would then not be a perfect setup.
At the moment they have made it to suit what power it has, more power will outbalance the car...

I think it would not be as nice a balance. However, it is likely that they 'overbuilt' the car. Racing versions (and the LM) have more poower than 627, and they handle it fine. IMO, the TT's will just make the driver need to pay more attention, the car will require more skill to drive fast.

you would need ALOTTA balls to drive that car to it's full potential (plus the autobahn ;) )

LOL, ya they have a name for a Mclaren TT though, it's called the EB 16/4 Veyron, and it has two extra Turbos.

4 extra cylinders adn 1.9 liters extra displacement (finished it for ya, Porsche;) )

And I think I would skip the autobahn and go straight to Volkswagens 14.2 mile high speed track, thats where the F1 was timed at 391km/h, or 240 mph.

that would be so much fun if you could somehow rent a mclaren (and sign your life away) then go on that VW track..... that would rule :D
