2000 Windstar SEL interior lights flickering

My interior lights are flickering more and more. Tonight there was hardly a break in between. I finally moved the dial thing near the headlight control to turn them off. What could be causing this? I'm afraid it's an electrical thing and I really don't want to put a lot of money into this! Thanks!

Try disconnecting the intrument panel dimmer switch and shooting it with electrical contact cleaner. Sounds like corrosion inside the switch. Not uncommon.

We had the same problem with a 2003 windstar.Back & forth to the dealer 8 times.Turns out to be the ignition switch.Dealer also said a "too heavy of a key chain" may cause the lightsto flicker due to the weight of key chain on the ignition switch.With the van running, try and jiggle the key/ignition you should see the lights start to flicker.

My wife and i just recently purchased our second Windstar (2003 SEL), the day after we bought it the interior lights began to flicker. The dealer (Nissan Dealer) has made several attempts at resolving the problem including ALL 5 door switches, and a new computer. And yet they still flicker. I will try jiggling the key in the switch to see if I can duplicate the problem. If anyone knows of any other cause, please, please post.
BTW, the first one done the same thing, not as frequently and it already had over 100k, this one when purchased had 46k!!!
