williamsport huh?

interesting, well no hard feelings i hope... Welcome to AF.

So what ya got packed under the hood of the GSR that makes you so confident? BTW I like your car cause it looks SAF. Stock As F---. I hope it really isnt where it counts though. :D

Just to be fair, Ill devulge some info on my Beast(s). The 70 has a 425hp/440ft-lbs 383ci. The 72 had a more or less stock 350ci, but was blown up by previous owner. Transplanting the 383 into the 72 when time and money arrives.

There thats my story... and I'm sticking to it... untill i make up a better one :p

But now that you mentioned it, the stock Cobra's came with those numbers, which as you know can be improved upon like whoa.

Anywho... YUGOS RULE :ylsuper

Now if your where to order all those parts and put them on a regular 5.0, you would have well over 300 hp. Basically its a common assumption that Ford underated the 94/95 cobras to make there brand new modular 4.6 look better, that was coming out for the first time in mustangs in 1996. Couldnt have the 94/95 cobras making as much power as the all new 96 cobra with 305 hp. Which most people say was overrated. Anyway various people have dynoed stock 94/95s and get anywhere from 225- 230 at the wheels which equals to around 270-275 hp at flywheel, which in its detuned state makes sense, with all the parts it has on it. Throw on a few parts to open up exhaust and breathing and your making as much as the 96-98 cobras, but of course you cant rev as high, but torque makes up for that.

your wrong... if you were to order modified versions of those parts it would boost the hp but we were to replicate the motor not inhance the design(plus the parts were not ordered by us). tell me how you could get a higher HP when everything was calibrated to the exacts of the 94/95 mustang using the same parts??????

Are they running Civics now? When I watched before they were running Accords, and not doing too badly I might add... As for my taste in cars, Porsche all the way :D
yea they run a type R civic. they use a civic and accord on production class now. I agree with you 100 percent on porshe, I don't think anyone can dislike a car of that caliber. :D

Not to go off topic on purpose but...

I think that white Cobra of yours looks a lot more wicked then the new one.

I think I have to agree with my fellow chevy driver here...

Your Cobra is much more appealing to the eye, I saw a 03 Cobra the other day it was Green. It didnt do anything for me.

hey we're already off-topic lol, I have to agree with you both the new stang body style is not my favorite, I really liked the curves of the older model. When they changed the body style in 99 I was dissapointed with the new look. Same thing with honda's new body style.

I am not exactly following what you are trying to say? Let me try again. The list of parts that seperate the cobra engine from the regular 5.0 a.k.a mustang gt, the "ones you listed that you helped your friend install". All those parts can be ordered from Ford Racing. The hp increase that Ford Racing says these parts will cause would put the Cobra 94/95 well over its quoted rating of 240 hp. So, remember I am talking about two different engines here, the base 5.0 and the cobra 5.0. The base 5.0, the GT does NOT have the GT-40 style heads, cobra intake, revised cam, crane 1.7 roller rockers or oil cooler. Plus the transmission does not have the extra low 1st gear that the cobra has. Am I making more sense now?

Thanks guys on the compliments of the car! I think it will look even better when santa brings me some new shocks and springs, should drop it down about an inch. Personaly I think ford got it right with this sn-95 design. Of course I would trade mine for the new cobra in a heartbeat. That is if they would trade even.:D

it was a rebuild, ok tear down rebuild. and we didint dyno it just showed the car, so you may be right might have increased HP but i doubt it since when we finished it was a total conversion plus I just said that we replaced all of that....... this has been done many times before .....trust me.... i'm not trying to fight with you...look it up/

I think we might be talking about two different things, cause Im not understanding what your saying. All Im saying is, the parts that make up the stock cobra engine, give that engine the ford rating of 240 hp. Now if you order all those same parts and put them on a mustang GT, then you get well over 300 hp. Even though the break down on both engines would be the same. Just showing ford underated the 94/95 cobras. Is this what you are talking about?

he had to completely rebuild the motor par say to Special Motor Vehicles exact calibration as well as everything about the car, so he would have had to replace everything that wasen't the same as well as the head. and if your ever in the area we hold night races frequently on weekends your welcome to check it out car or not.

Sounds like it would cost more then just buying a cobra. What I was saying before, is the 94/95 cobras hp is underated by ford

My brother has a 1999 Saturn SC2. I would tell your friend to cut off that fart can and put on a quality exhaust system. The best you can buy (which my brother has) is an exhaust system made by Thermal R&D. It costs about 500 dollars, but I like it. Stainless steel and all of it is chrome. Also, SPS (Saturn Performance Specialists) specializes in saturn performance. I would recommend you check them out. Good luck with your power.
