I am getting ready to replace my rear break pads and rotors on my 2004 Impala SS and i though the guy at auto zone told me about something about the caliper pins, and i cant remember what he said...is it important? Also is there any special tools I will need for this job??? Thanks for your help!!:grinyes:

The caliper pins go into the bracket that holds the caliper on the car. Make sure these pins move freely, as it's what the caliper slides on. If they are seized, the inboard pad will wear much faster than the outboard.

Ok, thank you very much!! I had a sucsessful Rear brake and rotor job last night and made sure to grease all outer contact points! My rotors were very pitted, yet the pads were just fine about 50% but i went ahead and replaced them too. I guess they sold me the car w/ bad rotors and good pads! Oh well its stopping much better! Thanks again!
