starting problems

new here and havent seen a thread for my exact problem.
have a 95 5 speed just put in a new starter. it started fine after i put it in but now just makes a one time click noise. has new plugs and wires, and a new battery. any thoughts:banghead:

Check your grounds and your battery cable connections. Check to be sure you are getting 12 volts the the small terminal on the starter. If that checks out then you probably have a defective starter. Take it back and get it warrantied.

just went and got said car by pop starting it. havent had a cnance to check voltage put battery connections apper to be good along with ground. battery light stays on if thats any help, didnt before, and just bought battery earlier today:banghead:

alternator ain't chargin' that battery anymore.

Well to be more specific, if the car is running with the battery light on, then the alternator ain't chargin'. Does the car crank at all after the click? I know that you may only hear one click if the battery is really drained, loose battery connection, or bad starter (all have happenend to me for various reasons i won't get into). But do what Cat Fuzz said plus test the battery voltage too to make sure.

turn the key you hear click one time and that is it. nothing else.:banghead: will be checking starter and connections in more detail later today. i do know its not the battery itself.

thanks to all whom repied, car is fine, one of the starter connections wasnt tight enough, car starts right up and battery light goes off, alternator is fine. thanks agin you guys rock:grinyes::grinyes::grinyes:
