ok the power steering fluid is getting extremely hot when it is driven for about 30 or so miles. the pump wines loudly when this happens. as long as it is cool the pump makes no noise. the fluid is full an dont look bad. so whats up with this thing? thanks

the best way to fix this problem is to do the flush procedure outlined in this forum, just removing the res. won't remove all of the fluid within the lines.
Also, instead of using Mercon fluid I would a full synthetic like Mobil 1 ATF, it will hold up to the heat better. I also have the whining sound when I make left turns and am planning to do the flush sometime this summer. I will try to take pictures of the procedure to post them up if permited.
