I'm trying to replace my tires, but I need some ideas. I've been looking around on consumer reports, but you all are the ones who've already done it. What do YOU all like?

Here's what I'm after...

I'm planning to upgrade my intakes and exhaust to improve fuel economy as well as my performance capabilities, so I need a tire that can help on both fronts. Are there tires that you all like? -especially you all with the interceptors! What's everyone's favorites?

Is there a tire that has great handling, noise control, and tread life? I don't plan on having it in snow a lot, but I will take it back to Pennsylvania every once in a while. The main things are handling and noise control though.

Thanks everyone

Thanks everyoneB.F Goodwrech precept touring I find where the best tire I put on 7 impalas that i had in past 3 years, on one set i had 130 000 km's with still tread left on them for another 20 000km's or so. They are very smooth,no noise, very quiet and an excellent ride compared to the stock goodyear integrity tires that where very noisey, and a rough ride.

I like Goodyear Tripletread Assurance tires. They don't have the stiffest sidewalls on the market, but they are much stiffer than stock tires - they handle much better than stock. They're great in the rain and have decent comfort. I have 22,000 miles on them and I've only used 3/32 of the tread (I still have 9/32" left). However, I only have 16 inch wheels, whereas SS's have 17" wheels=better handling, rougher ride, possibly less treadlife.

I have the same car, the indy version. I upgraded my exhaust to flowmasters and only swapped the air filter for a K&N. Unless you can get into the computer, you best be careful with those upgrades, the car wants to upshift early now. I lost MPG in town but it's still pretty good on the highway.

Anyway, at 66k I had to change the tires. I bought the same ones that were OEM on tirerack.com. They really are decent tires for that car.
