Just a note to let you all know that autoenginuity scanner is a laptop based scanner and has the capability of reading abs codes. The ability comes at a cost as you must purchase an expansion pack. However for people looking for an OBD 2 scanner with CAN ability and want also to be able to check and monitor abs this is the tool. There is a note though saying the the 96 to 98 3.0 engine is not covered??? I am not sure if that means the abs reading capability is not covered or if the extended sensor capability. http://www.autoenginuity.com/products-software.html#EI01 The pricing is $250.00 for the unit and software and another $150.00 for the expansion pack for Ford only. The unit witout expansion pack will read much more extensive details than a normal scanner. Just thought I would let everyone know.

I have been looking at autoenginuity for a long time as well but never made the purchase. I think if I had to buy a scan tool this would be the one, but I like the scan tools made by snap-on but they are very expensive. Does anyone actually have autoenginuity and how do they like it?

Another scanner I have been looking at is at http://www.obdscan.net/index.htm It seems like a good scanner similar to Autoenginuity only cheaper and you can buy a package for $39.00 to read ABS and air bag as well as Ford specific sensors. I am currentley asking questions to find out how it compares to similar products. There is a demo on the sight to see how the software acts. The nice thing is you can see things in real time for instance O2 sensors. Fuel ratio. Battery voltage. Whatever the PCM monitors. Ill fill you in more should I find out more or if I make a decision to buy.
