Camshaft Problems

im having problems removing a camshaft from a chevy 327. It seems to be stuck. It will twist but it will not come out. any tips?

it has to very straight to line up all the cam bearing journals withn the cam bearings. Also there may be some ridges from built up residue at the edges of the bearing surfaces so you may have to work it through them.

Have you removed the fuel pump and distributor?
