Superb 7 (Blue Seven)

Scale-Master
03-09-2007, 01:52 PM
Well, after two years and seven months, it is finally done! Literally thousands of scratchbuilt and machined parts, most of them made of aluminum, but also including brass, stainless steel and various plastics, resin and acrylic materials.
It's quite possible that over the next few weeks I will come up with some small things to add, maybe touch-up or adjust. I see there is a little dusting to be done... But as of now, it appears to be technically finished! This has been a most rewarding and enjoyable build. Seems like all the frustrating times I put myself through have been forgotten now.
Thank you to all who have encouraged me and expressed interest during this long term project... - Mark

Hi,

congrats for this model, hard to believe it a model and not a real car. For sure one of the most realistic cars I have ever seen.

I´m speechless

Wow Mark. Simply astonishing. It's been a real honor and pleasure watching the buildup from day one when we first saw the brake resovoir. I have learned so much and taken away more than I could have imagined. The completed piece itself is a work of art, it looks real to say the least. I wish I could say more, but when something like this shows up there is a lack of words to describe it.

I can't wait to see it in person in September. I hope you've Rainex'ed it so the drool just slides right off.

This model is just incredible. There are no words to express my astonishment.

If you'd post it in a real car forum I would doubt that anyone would figure out that it actually is a scale model.

Congratulations!

:eek2: Man, U'r insane :headshake I'd say that the detail level is quite adequite :icon16: Is that a nitrousbottle in the back? 2 years and 7 months U gotta be proud of that achievement. I wouldn't have that kind of patience making one model that long (but I guess U build something on the side as well)!

Yeah i'm with the other guys here, words just can't express what this model is...I can say awesome, cool!, and great job, but it just can't sum up the justice this model deserves. Thanks for letting us in on the progress of this wonderful build, the quality of work you have shown has inspired me (and many others i'm sure) for future builds.

... watching the buildup from day one when we first saw the brake resovoir.

I was just thinking about that same thing, and the amazement I had when I looked at the pictures in that first post.

Very impressive build. I hope that one day I will be fortunate enough to see it in person somewhere.

Well done.

The word Amazing gets thrown around in these forums a lot, and many of the recipients are worthy, but I think this is probably the top of the food chain when it comes to that word. So, will we be able to see this at the Ipms nationals in a few months? That would be pretty sweet.. well, unless i'm in the same category :(

The finished article is every bit as mindblowing as I expected it to be seeing all the "bits" being built. A truly phenominal achievement. It may be only March but I think we have already found our '07 AFMOTY - if not the decade! :)

AFMOTY? Nah. More like AF Model of the Decade. This model is beyond anything I imagined was possible. It's phenominal in every aspect. I don't know how you do it, but keep it up!

Saying that it is realistic just doesn't do justice to the thought, effort and creativity you have put into this.

This is without a doubt one of the best models ever made and is "Hall of Fame" material.

Congratulations and thanks for being so free with sharing your techniques throughout the process.

(Now you will have to make a cabinet big enough to hold all the awards this will surely win :D)

I look forward to September.

Must be the best and most impressive car built in this scale!

Holy Crap! I'm jelaous: do you have such weather right now??

@Andy: think how start the fire under Stevensky's ass and may be that we'll meet togheter in september ;) :D.... at least we have to take a pict of TT togheter.

@Mark: when we think at "1/12" we ever have in mind hige stuff: but doing the S7 in 1/24 I have to say that it seem more a 1/43 model: your photos show that: the result is even more impressive! This car is thiny!!!

Scale-Master
03-12-2007, 09:38 AM
Hey Mike. What makes you think I'm not the evil twin?

Has oil, you can see it on the dip stick when it's pulled out. The battery must have juice, it has a green eye... Haven't put fuel in it.

Yes, the weather is that nice here now. Should be in the high 70's, maybe a balmy low 80's today. Gotta love the So.Cal beach climate...

And yes, Super Sevens are tiny no matter what scale. I have built larger models in 1/24 scale than this one in 1/12... - Mark

I've been following this build since day one and i've been dying to see it finished. I must say that this is by far the most impressive model that I have ever seen, knowing the sort of work and scratch built parts that went into building this car is mind blowing. I've simply run out of superlatives to describe this model since i've used it all...

Whats your next build? because I'm just dying to see more of your work..Well done!
