1999 Saturn SC2
Mileage 94,000
Help me out on this if you can.....
This car was cruising along at about 50 mph, and everything shut down. Engine died, lights dimmed and the whole nine yard, or that is the story as it was told to me by the 16 year old girl.
When you turn the key you get a single tick. It doesn't sound like that of a starter though. We attempted to jump it, and again, nothing. Hoping someone can give me some insight as to what is going on.
The vehicle belongs to a family that is close to us, and due to some unfortunate circumstances (a fool on a bobcat) is going through a rough time, and I'm trying to help out. Thus, not a whole lot of information for you folks but hoping that you can point me in the right direction. Thanks....

Take the battery cables off the positive and negative. 8 mm socket. Look for corrosion/ buildup. Clean as appropriate and re-install. Follow negative wire to ground. Ensure good contact at grounds points.

Replace the Alt and the Battery..should be good to go.
