lol elchicoloco. thats funny.

I own the last of the 'true' sentra SE-R's with the sr20de motor, and the interior is pretty much the same. mine is the same except the Spec gets factory colored bucket seats, a slightly stiffer suspention, and a vlsd stock. other options were brembo upgrade, and other admenities like sunroof and things.

The Nissan Spec-V isnt a bad idea. just make sure you get one that is pretty new. you can pick up a 02 for about 8k tops. Or one that has the engine recall done to it, ususally 04+. 02-04 are known for loosing their butterfly screws in the intake mani, and get sucked into the engine. that alone isn't good. the solution for that is to loctite those screws. also the precat on the header for the spec-v/se-r's and altimas with the qr25de engine, is known to kill your engine as well. the pre-cat on the header is known to brake up and become sucked into the engine as well. so 2 mods right out of the gate for the se-r/spec-v is header, o2 sim, and locite butterfly screws. other than that, its a great car. decent room, bucket seats, not very common, and comes stock with a vlsd.

there is more on this here

http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=1935693&postcount=1

the only thing i think you might not like about the spec-v, is its short redline. redline is at 6000 if i recall correctly. torquey, peppy, and fun. reminds me, also the gear box is a short gear trans. so you will always be shifting. 1st gear is at 30mph. 2nd 55, 3rd 85 i think, and this is for 02-03. 04 got the bigger 1st gear if i remember correctly.

and because i actually typed out all of this, ill take the stick of gum musashi is giving you, since i have bad breath at the moment, after making a homemade smoothie.

loving evo's and galant's is like loving fat chicks. you just have to realize that the thrill is still there in the ugly ones and it might give you the ride of your life.

The reverse is true with the DSM. Driving a DSM is like being a fat chick and having sex. You really need to push it and go all out because you never know if it will run again...

Or my personal favorite: Nitrous is like boning a hottie with an STD while wearing that condom. You know you want to, but you still fear the consequence.

the RSX type -s was a choice since they can be found decently priced here, but the problem is alot of them are riced out and we are looking for a stock car cause those have been beaten the least. The tibi is too small even for a coupe, might as well get a two seater, we drove one about a year ago before i got the jetta, the leather was uncomfortable, and everything felt so small it was claustrophobic. The SE-R specV was another choice but becauseof what chiq had said about them before i said f-that.

Oh I checked the MSRP on the window sticker for my car, and it was actually 29,600. I paid 28k though.

BTW the type of car we are looking for is a dd that is fun to drive and wont crap out on us anytime soon.

Also-jetta update- The car no longer has the rough idle since i changed the water/coolant hose, the car is alot quieter and runs smoother than when I bought it. The CEL dissappeared when I changed the hose and hasnt showed itself since. We are gonna see how the is acting within the next couple of weeks to see the final outcome of the car. I also have to replace an intake/vacuum hose this weekend.

dont get me wrong, the spec-v is fine, just find one that hasn't gotten a recall, or ate a butterfly screw, or had precat failure.

thats all there is to it. otherwise its a great car. kinda like cooling mods for the fc, t clamps(i think) for the srt, and a cai for the jetta. loctiting butterfly screws are fine. header precat failure, happens on cars under a lot of aggressive driving, at high milage(80k+).

you can get a 06 se-r spec-v for about 15k. and thats snowroom new.

yeah, those spec-V's are cheap, we'll go take a look at on, i know im impartial to them so i'll see what the mrs. thinks.

Thing is, if shit keeps breaking it's going to be a money pit. And if that happens then I wouldve spent more money on a car that isnt worth it.

It's only going to mess up if you dog it. VWs are extremely reliable. Our Passat has 192k miles on it and runs like a champ... always use 93 octane and service every 3000-5000 miles with only German Castrol Synthetic (from lifelong VW mechanic at his own private shop). The car has been paid off for a few years now and it's hard to think about getting rid of it. No mods because they're expensive and not really necessary for my wife's driving habits.

Face it... you're just tired of the Jetta. GL dude.

im not tired fo the jetta, im not driving it. things keep breaking and its annoying, ive havent really driven the car in over 3 months now. There is a hose I have to buy tomorrow so I can replace it that costs 70 bucks, freaking 70 for a hose! If I keep having to replace these hoses i am going to go broke. Not to mention 600-800 for my A/C and the temps are heating up here in miami so I have to fix it. That's why I said, im giving it like 2 more weeks, if something else goes wrong, and i mean if it even hiccups wrong it's outta here, im not fixing anymore hoses or leaks. Yes the engine is reliable, but everything else that was made in mexico is going to hell and back just to torture my pockets.

 The Focus does not have a T56 6-speed.

T56 6-speeds are a RWD transmission found in Corvettes, F-Bodys, GTOs, Vipers, and Cobra Mustangs.

What they have is a 6-speed Getrag Transaxle.

It's wishfull thinking to think the Focus has a T56, that'd imply that it's RWD and that Ford actually built a cool car.

Joking aside, the SVT Focus really is a badass little go-kart.

Have you ever bothered to check outside of your area? Like, maybe in a neighboring state? Where values are lower?

I check out of state from time to time, and the prices are decently lower when I do. Like, just looking to Arizona/Oregon I see prices are pretty competitive.

It would be a petty long haul to get from Miami to Georgia. I agree though, I ended up saving almost 4 grand when I bought my Jeep because everyone in town want 16 grand for what I was looking for and those Jeeps were with 60k on it as well. I looked at other parts of Ohio where the cost of living isnt as high. I eneded up paying 12,500 for a JGC with only 36k on it and the best part was I only had to drive a little over an hour to get there.

Little over an hour drive saved me almost $4000 and 25-30k miles. It was well worth the drive. I wouldnt look out of the state but I would def. look outside of Miami because its mucho expensive down there.....

Another thing thats a little off topic. You are really worry about your cars to much. I understand your young and thats cool. All I wanted when I was your age was nice cars as well, but now that I have aged I wish I would have bought a house a little sooner instead of worrying about what I was riding around in. I could be a cool 10 years into a mortgage payment instead of only one year.

I know everyones priorties are dif. but it seem that you would want to get out and live on your own with your girl and expierence life earlier instead of later. All though I lived with my Mom till I was 22 and only had a car payment to show for it.

2 car payments = staying at home with the parents for a lot longer unless the Insurance buisness is booming and money wont be an issue..

Bro, the Jetta is hanging in there for now. How can you bitch about a 70 dollar hose and seriously consider a whole nother car?
thats so far from making sense!

Any used car you buy your gonna need to put money into, ANY!
unless you get it with a factory warranty but that implies more money spent. right now you have a possible expense when it comes to the Jetta because it might break more stuff which can be easily fixed.
or you have a guaranteed expense if you choose to buy another car. The simple fact that you would have to dish out 600 dollars to get the A/C fixed already puts you on the high expense route.

every single car your looking at is a performance car. (which seriously she dossent need) So if up to now the cheepest you can find is a 10K redline, add tax, tag, tittle, dealer fees, commission and your looking at 12,500.00 out the door. you say you can get 10K on your jetta (which with that big hit you have on the rear quarter pannel I doubt) so that still leaves you with a 2,500.00 expense cost. Add the insurance down payment and the 600.00 for A/C repair so that you can actually get the 10K on the Jetta (alegedly), and you need have a cost of $3,100.00 just to get another car.

are you gonna tell me that it makes sense to spend 3100.00 dollars because the jetta might break another 70 dollar hose?

you got some expenses and debts you have to take care off before you even consider spoilling yourself some more with a car you dont need! lets take care of shit like that first and then do whatever it is you do.

Just so you know Gotian, I made two trips to buy the car I own this day. One trip was from Utah to Illinois to see Joshy. There I found the Eclipse. And I took great interest in it. Soon enough when I got the word that he was selling it, I went for it.

Thus I travelled from Upstate New York down to Illinois again to make my purchase. Was it worth it? Sure was. I enjoy my new car. So why not make a trip to find a car. I personally inspected it, got a test drive and bought it. It was well worth it to me.

Granted at this point I'm contimplating on selling it, but still. Owning this car was a blast, well worth it, and made me realize that shopping in just one area, you miss out on everything that's around you. There's always a good deal if you truly look for it. Always. Enough said.

But I agree with everyone. Keep the Jetta. Mushy made a great point. So stick with it.

I got the rx-8 cause if i waited any longer i wouldnt be able to get it and my girl wouldnt have a car and I'd have to keep taking her back and forth to and from work. Also it just so happens that musashi and his wife got the redline around the same time i found out how much im getting for my taxes, i've been thinking about dumping my jetta for a while cause honestly it's not just the parts, its the whole fixing crap, the other day when the hose for the coolant blew I was driving my girl from work and the car started smoking. I had no idea that i was leaking coolant because the reservoir was always full and there were no puddles or anything indicating a leak. I had to leave the car at my job cause that was like the halfway point and call musashi to pick us up. I was glad that I was driving that day and not my g/f cause she probably wouldve blown the engine. Well doesnt matter anyways, I already said I was gonna see how the car is acting for the next couple of weeks, so I'd appreciate it if the personal attacks would stop.

I post here asking for opinions about 2 cars not your opinions about me. Which btw jeep I dont like you either and I would rather listen to a pile of shit before your advise comes in. And by the way you say that you dont care, but obviously you do somewhat because if you truely didnt you wouldnt find the time to go and post something on the topic...god i wish there was a kiss my ass smilely right now.

And all of you who gave me some info on the cars, I really appreciate it, thanks guys.

Yeah, it's booming so much you're looking into financing used cars.

Don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining.

Seriously Gotian, if you honestly were doing that well... would you really be worrying about financing a used car? You'd be buying cars with cash, or with a stupidly large amount down if you were doing well. I won't even mention the personal debts you owe...

Face it, you live paycheck to paycheck. Buy a cheaper car, save some cash in the bank. Your girlfriend does not need a performance type anything to get to and from work. Nobody does. And considering the price of gas, why have to pay the prices of premium gas for just commuting.

If your girlfriend bitches about wanting the cooler car, then tell her to step up and pay for it all herself.

And please, don't get all high and mighty like your shit doesn't stink. You're a poor ass car freak like the rest of us. You're in a slump, big effin deal.. but don't put yourself in a hole financially that you can't climb back out of just cause you feel the need to have a cool car.

It's called responsibility... sometimes we just have to do it. We all do. Hell, I dug myself into a hole finacially when I had my Z28, it's been gone a year and I'm still trying to recover. And it'll probably be another year or two before I'm back ontop of things... and that's with my new job that pays nearly $10,000 a year more than I was making at my last job!

Just trying to help man, don't want to see you get into a hole like I got into. It's seriously depressing my friend.
